The Role:
A primary position within Access Design and Engineering to oversee several projects from inception to completion ensuring that the projects are completed on time and within budget, with health and safety as top
priority and able to deliver client expectations.

Based in Middlesbrough with a requirement to visit sites regularly including occasional overnight stays.


Estimating and Tendering
* Where applicable, provide sound technical and commercial advice to the estimators for the accurate presentation of tender submissions and quotations.
* Provide feedback to the estimators on the suitability and performance of external suppliers and sub-contractors.
* Where required, attend tender clearance meetings (CDI) and advise on the content of submissions.

Project Management and Planning
* Attend and chair contract start up meetings and take responsibility for several projects allocated by the General Manger
* Allocate, supervise and control contracts officers and trainees in the execution of project management duties.
* Represent the division in all project communication matters with the client.
* Ensure that contract programs are drafted, submitted and agreed with clients in accordance with contractual obligations.
* Take control and be responsible for the project performance of draughtsman, labour, plant, material; resources and external suppliers and sub-contractors in the execution of work to contractual obligations and budgets.
* Prepare and issue all contractual notices, instructions and directions together with general correspondence.
* Provide all progress monitoring reports as directed by the General Manager.
* Implement and control all Quality Assurance and Health and Safety procedures in respect of projects, whether through internal or external systems.

Suppliers and Sub-Contractors
* Select, negotiate, plan and order the supply of sub-contract services.
* Direct, manage and control all aspects of supply and sub-contract services in respect of project requirements.
* Supervise the performance of supply and sub-contract services such that the contract obligations of the division are maintained.
* Issue instructions and directions in the manner prescribed by the division's operating procedures.
* Maintain the necessary records to facilitate the proper operation of products in both progress and financial matters.
* Implement, control and monitor all correspondence with supply and sub-contract services companies.

Quantity Surveying
* Maintain all contractual requirements in respect of information flow, instructions, variations, day-works and contemporary records.
* Assist on measurement information, claims and entitlements.
* Provide commercial advice to assist with the Company monthly Cost and Value Reconciliations (CVR).

* Prepare and submit requisitions in accordance with divisional policy and procedure.
* Assist the Installation Manager where directed on general and business matters.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Ideally relevant degree qualified or able to demonstrate extensive experience in a similar role in the structural steelwork industry or similar.
