The Role:
Fircroft are seeking a Contracts Engineer for a long term contract position within Algeria

Rotation: 28x28
Accommodation & Flights provided
Day Rate : TBC
Requirement: MUST be able to speak French

The Contract Engineer will report to the Contract & Procurement Manager and will be responsible for protecting the commercial interests of Company in its Contracting & Contract Administration activities with all third party service providers. A strong emphasis will be placed on ensuring that business undertakings are committed on the most cost-effective and minimal risk basis, all in accordance with contracting strategies and procedures
Accountabilities include:
* Advise, guide and support Contract Users on the fundamental principles and processes to adopt when developing and implementing contracting strategies.
* Draft and compile Invitation to Tender, Tender Evaluation and Contract documents in a clear, detailed proactive manner with the objective of minimising claims and disputes.
* Review and acknowledge ITT documentation, distribute to relevant departments and hold internal review meetings
* Ensure tendering, bid clarifications and tender evaluations are carried out consistently and fairly.
* Support the project teams and Contract Users in the resolution of commercial and contractual issues with contractors including review of terms and conditions of contract in collaboration with legal, risk and insurance specialists
* Prepare recommendations to management for award and signature of a variety of contracts.
* Take ownership and act with the authority of the Nominated Company Commercial Representative and maintain a designated portfolio of contracts
* Support Project Engineers and Contract Users in commercial negotiations with contractors.
* Draft and issue contract letters and notices when required.
* Manage various contracts and disputes through to final account.
* Support the commercial delivery of contracts and apply consistent and robust change management of all variation requests in a timely manner.
* Support Project team in the EPC prequalification phase;
* Support Project team in the EPC ITT preparation tender.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Essential Criteria:
* A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business , Engineering or an equivalent relevant degree
* Extensive work experience as a Contracts Engineer preferably within the Oil & Gas or Construction industries.
* Sound contractual knowledge and analytical skills
* Experience of tendering or project execution including estimating, qualification of contract and commercial documentation, negotiating, cost forecasting and reporting.
* Proved experience in EPC Complex and/or Large Scale Contracts.
* Experience in Contract Administration
* French / English speaking
