The Role:
Job Position Summary
This position is for a Senior Construction Engineer working on behalf of the Company.
As a Company project representative there is an implied duty to cooperate, facilitate, encourage and support the EPC and their Subcontractors to the best of your ability to achieve the expected project outcomes.
The Senior Construction Engineer is responsible for ensuring the site works are properly managed and executed by the EPC and their approved Subcontractors in accordance with the Contract Agreement.
This role requires the Senior Construction Engineer to work and interface with other Company discipline Engineers, Superintendents, Planners, Authorities and the EPC Contractor, Vendors to ensure key Contract deliverables are met.
The key deliverables are; safety compliance, environmental management, assurance, budget management and control, project schedule milestones and adherence to the detailed specifications and standards to fully execute the works in accordance with the EPC Contract and EPC Contractor written practices.
General Job Scope
The general execution scope for the Senior Construction Engineer on the MzLNG plant Site works is inclusive of a variety of multiple discipline interfaces, typically this will include;
* Surveillance and reporting of engineering compliance
* Design reviews
* Technical query review and comment
* Engineering interface for construction package tie-ins
* Engineering risk identification and mitigation
* Interface with off-site Engineering management teams as required
* Assist, guide and mentor discipline superintendents and field engineers

Key Responsibilities
Overall responsibility for Company oversight of the EPC day to day management of the works, inclusive of but not limited to;
* Compliance, oversight, guidance and support to the EPC
* Support the implementation of the Company HSE Policies and procedures
* Support the implementation of the Company Assurance program and processes
* Compliance with the Company Security protocols
* Coordinate the engineering elements of the project to ensure that the Company's technical performance and integrity requirements are met
* Reviewing calculations, technical notes, requisitions, specifications, drawings etc. produced within EPC engineering deliverables.
* Complete engineering document reviews and comments for technical approvals
* Collaborate and co-ordinate with other engineers, designers and technical personnel for developing sound engineering solutions
* Validity and reliability of engineered solutions and proposals by EPC
* Monitor and report on EPC compliance to engineering design standards and requirements
* Monitor and review EPC engineering changes, including design control, document control and MOC
* Actively participate in EPC site toolbox talks, pre-starts and site safety briefings and meetings
* Monitoring and Review of EPC related Assurance activities and verification documentation
* Assure EPC is performing all works in accordance with the approved plans and procedures
* Site surveillance and reporting of EPC construction progress against approved schedules

Specific experience and expertise in the following areas is required:
* Minimum of ten (10) years' experience in a similar engineering role on large scale LNG projects
* Proven track record of working as a Company representative on EPC lump sum LNG projects
* Proven ability to liaise professionally with EPC Contractor and other key stakeholders on site
* Comprehensive understanding and sound knowledge of LNG process packages
* Previous experience with coordinating agreement on interpretation and use of engineering standards and management of the technical deviations.
* Broad knowledge of all engineering & construction disciplines and the applicable codes and standards
* Ability to provide specialist input to engineering design, familiarity with the design change process
* Ability to think conceptually, and to monitor the conformance of the EPC designs against the concepts outlined within the project Design Basis.
* Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including GA, SLD's & P&ID's
* Proven ability to interpret and manage project schedules and report against EPC field progress
* Proven ability to manage and influence a team and develop an effective culture through respect
* Advanced computer skills for MS office, Adobe and Database software applications
* A sound understanding of financial controls and project budgets
* Proficient English language skills, both verbal and written,
* Effective communication and leadership skills,
* Team player who is able to foster relationships, and think outside the box,
* Ability to deliver a culture committed to safely delivering the Project targets
* Ability to schedule priorities and multi-task within the assigned EPC Contract packages
* Able to work autonomously with minimal technical guidance and instruction

Education & Qualifications
* A degree qualified Engineer in a relevant discipline with minimum 10 years' experience
* Chartered Engineer, Professional Engineer or equivalent membership of a professional body
