The Role:
Our client operate a major Chemical manufacturing facility in Teesside. They are looking to add an IT Technical Support Analyst to their team based on site on a 6 month contract basis on a PAYE (Pay As You Earn) basis only. The role will cover the following taska
Technical skills:
Server Administration
* Hardware (Dell preferred).
* SAN Administration (Basic SAN skills as part of virtual environment).
* VMWare experience (installing, configuring, vOperations, vSphere patching etc).
* Microsoft Server Operating System Expertise (2008Rd, 2012, 2016), building, advanced configuration, patching and management.
* ArcServe UDP (or similar backup software) backup configuration and management.
* Use of robotic tape libraries.
* Experience of backing up Oracle database (preferred).
Desktop Management/PC Administration Skills
* Experience building PCs from scratch, including creating Win10 MSIs.
* Building and maintaining a core image to be loaded on all PCs, including scripting/creating and managing custom MSIs for deployment.
* Experience with system administration tools like Dell KACE, Microsoft SCCM, to be able to push patches and software installations to PCs remotely.
* Work with remote access tools to be able to provide PC and server support remotely (RDP, VNC, Remote Assistance etc).
* Familiar with Active Directory and Powershell to manage user accounts and machines on the domain.
* Manage AD Group Policy.
* Familiar with Antivirus software with the ability to troubleshoot and clean viruses from systems (Sophos).
* Familiar with troubleshooting 0365 apps: Word/Excel (mainly issues with licence activation and deployment).
Basic Networking/Data Communication Skills
* Basic troubleshooting connection issues.
* Ability to backfill network admin during vacation (basic level) - WAN/LAN, layer three routing.
* Understanding of VOIP based phone solutions to provide basic support, ideally for Cisco Unified Communications.
Personal skills
Self-starter: The individual must be able to assess the current needs and take appropriate actions to address the higher priorities without continual direction.
Initiative: The individual should be able to see and anticipate needs based on current support activities and interactions with customers/end users.
Strong Communication Skills: Must be able to communicate with technical staff, end users and site management.
