The Role:
JOB PURPOSE
We have an Operations Engineer role at the Seal Sands site. Reporting into the Plant Manager with the responsibility to maximise the effectiveness and availability of the plant. Striving for its optimal performance by advising the Operations Teams on the most effective operating conditions.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

 Act as Champion for the Safety Principles
 Effectively lead the technology improvement effort including the generation of new ideas assessing viable options and converting the ideas through to efficient and successful delivery.
 Take a lead role and provide specialist support for activities that improve plant operations.
 Evaluate and develop process improvement ideas and where agreed lead improvement projects and manage the commissioning and implementation.
 Lead and support troubleshooting and problem solving activities and identify effective improvement solutions.
 Provide operational and technical expertise to lead / support procedure reviews, plant or operational changes, incident and customer complaints investigations, audits, appropriate risk assessments and process safety reviews.
 Assess operational and plant changes against current Safety, Health & Environmental requirements and against appropriate company and site engineering standards.
 Mentor less experienced engineers and team members.
 A trained member of the Site Emergency Team

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Education/Experience
 Degree or equivalent in Chemical Engineering.
 Chartered engineer or able to demonstrate they are close to achieving chartered status.
 Minimum 5 years relevant experience in an ISO9000 and COMAH regulated environment.
 Experienced in leading Projects

Skills/Competencies
 Demonstrated success in developing creative solutions to complex problems.
 Ability to write concise reports and communicate effectively with a broad range of people.
 Highly computer literate, including the use of technical software such as ASPEN.
 Familiar with SHE regulations, risk assessments, and HAZOP studies
