The Role:
The SHE Advisor is responsible for a specific area. They will provide support and guidance to site teams, implement and improve site SHE processes, deliver improved SHE performance for personnel and ensure that the site meets its company and regulatory SHE obligations.

To provide guidance, support and advice on the implementation of SHE processes to operations and engineering teams to ensure excellence SHE performance.
Involved in accident and incident investigations, to identify root causes and actions to prevent recurrence.
Develop and participate in plant audit programmes, to ensure that SHE processes are carried out to the required standard.
Identify, advise, develop and deliver, if necessary, SHE training and toolbox talks to ensure that SHE awareness and performance is improved.
Work with contractor SHE representatives to ensure compliance of contractor SHE systems and performance with requirements.
Participate in risk assessments and appropriate SHE reviews.
To provide guidance, support and advice on the implementation of SHE processes such as risk assessments, permits and personal protective equipment.

Specialist Area of Responsibility
Asset Protection

Develop and manage the site emergency response and site security. Liaise with external emergency services, regulatory agencies to ensure conformity with relevant legislation and current best practice.
Working with the company's Asset Protection provider, develop training and emergency response scenarios for cross emergency response training, establish site Emergency Process, formulating and executing training scenarios for the Emergency Response Team, plant personnel.
Provide expertise and deliver training packages in the area of expertise, to increase site awareness and capability.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Education/Experience

Essential
 NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (or working towards NEBOSH Diploma) or at least 8 years experience in a high hazard environment
 Proven experience working within a high hazard environment.

Desirable
 Proven experience working within a high hazard chemical environment.
 Qualification in fire safety and risk management or Occupational Hygiene certificates of competence
 Understanding of regulatory requirements for asset protection i.e. emergency response and security
 Understanding of regulatory requirements for occupational hygiene and radiation protection compliance.
