The Role:
This role is part of a small team of two reporting to the Stores Manager. The primary purpose of the role is to purchase, receive and issue stores stock using existing SAP software. There is also a requirement to pursue opportunities to make the storehouse more efficient, eliminate obsolete items and optimize the inventory.

Duties:
 Act as Champion for Safety Principles
 Perform safety audits, risk assessments and observations to improve storehouse safety.
 Purchase stores stock via MRP system in SAP
 Receive and issue stores stock materials via SAP in line with Company procedures.
 Expedite materials when necessary to meet business needs
 Prepare materials for outages and shutdowns
 Control and manage industrial gas stock levels
 Manage the delivery of materials and chemicals to/from the site.
 Manage the storage of chemicals consistent with site procedures and relevant legislation.
 Plan and organise duties in the absence of the Stores Manager
 Participate in a 24-hour call out system to ensure emergency plant requirements are met

Education/Experience
 General education attainment equivalent to ONC/ A level
 Previous experience in stock control and procurement preferred
 Experience working in a fast moving stores environment.
 Chemical site knowledge desirable

Skills/Competencies
 Knowledge of SAP system with specific knowledge of the Materials Management module preferred
 Strong organizational skills ability to interface with different departments/teams.
 Good verbal and written communication skills
 Excellent computer skills (especially in excel)
 Competent to manage hazardous materials
 Enthusiastic with a helpful 'can do' attitude
 Valid UK full driving license
 Forklift license with experience.
