The Role:
This job specification details the requirements for the role of Business Development Director (Saltend
Chemicals Park.)

Ensure continued growth and success of the Saltend Chemicals Park (SCP) including the identification and
research of opportunities and the conversion of the same into commercial contracts. The Business Development Director (Saltend,) will embrace the BD team mission and key activities, supporting other team members as required and in-line with ongoing priorities.

Work effectively and positively with all company employees, customers, contractors and visitors to promote a positive
safety culture, ensuring awareness of personal SHE responsibilities for themselves, colleagues and the business.

Provision of excellent customer service & positive promotion of SCP and the wider business to internal &
external customers, in line with changing business needs, strategies and requirements.

Be an active contributor to both the SCP site corporate Business Development teams, ensuring effective communication and effort deployment.

Be an integral member of the senior management team at SCP setting strong strategic direction and input. Support the management team in all areas of business management as appropriate and with a main focus of SCP growth and longevity.

Key Account management and development of proposals associated with SCP for existing and new commercial contracts and agreements. Proactive contact with new and existing clients to understand their issues, needs and requirements.

Development of strategy ensuring continued growth and success of the SCP including site master planning, effective marketing and promotion - at a regional, national and international level and presentations to company Directors, Board and SCP Management Team.

Identification and research of potential SCP opportunities creating leads where appropriate. Be the SCP recognised face and champion effectively promoting the advantages SCP offers to existing and potential clients.

Provide well considered and researched reports and recommendations to the SCP senior management team on sales and marketing activities and development of the opportunity pipeline. As appropriate, co-ordinating internal and external resource.

Continuous development and improvement of the Site Development processes in line with ISO 9001 requirements and other company departments to streamline the business as far as possible.

Continue to develop SCP's network of contacts gathering business information and identifying leads via attendance at local and national networking events, forums, seminars, lunches and appropriate events

Develop client solutions, translating these into proposals and other sales documentation

Lead individual business related projects as allocated by the Executive Director of Development.
