The Role:
Project engineers are allocated to subsea production system (SPS) projects to ensure that all technical requirements of customer specifications & the contract are adhered to.
Typically, project engineers are divided into two disciplines - one being controls systems related & the other oil tools related. Both disciplines are required to effectively execute a SPS project. Project engineers are led by the project Technical Manager who has overall technical responsibility for the SPS project. The project engineers together with the Technical Manager work alongside the wider systems project management team under the direction of a Project Director. A project engineer will have responsibility for specific elements of the SPS scope & will interface directly with the customer &/or customers representatives.

Responsibilities: -
Working in conjunction with the Technical Manager & the other project team members; the project engineer will be responsible for ensuring the component parts that comprise the SPS function together to meet the system requirements. Typical products include: Topside & Subsea Control Systems, Wellheads, Subsea Trees, Casing & Tubing Hangers & related Running & Retrieval Tools, Manifold structures, Valves, Foundation Structures, Flowline Jumpers, Connectors, Installation & Workover Intervention Systems. The project engineer will work closely with the individual product engineering teams to ensure alignment of the SPS products to the contract requirements.
Work in close harmony with the project Interface Engineer to ensure that all interfaces are identified, considered, & closed out to the satisfaction of all parties in a timely manner.
Responsible for the preparation & generation of, or input to; the Design Basis Memorandum.
Review and critique Functional Design Specifications for the individual product groups & third-party suppliers that comprise the SPS
Responsible for directing & coordinating, or input to the system design review.
Ensure that product design reviews meet the requirements of the Design Basis Memorandum.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
University engineering degree or similar &/or a minimum of six years' experience in an engineering role in the oil field business or associated industry. Working knowledge of national & international rules & regulations applicable to oilfield tools & subsea production equipment. Good interpersonal & presentational skills, the role requires interaction & effective collaboration with internal departments, third parties & customer representatives.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Systems engineers with SPS hydraulic and electrical controls experience
