The Role:
An entry level position is available for a graduate mechanical engineer with a passion for Australia's resources and energy industry. This "Fircroft Exclusive" role will be within a tight knit engineering design, projects & operations team of a Fortune 500 Company.

The team is focused on delivering valves and measurement equipment to the biggest Oil & Gas Companies in the world, specifically servicing WA projects operated by world leading companies including Shell, Woodside, Chevron and INPEX.

Is This For You?
This team has traditionally avoided large graduate programs or group intakes to avoid painting all graduates with the same brush. These graduate positions are most commonly single hires and involve a more unique and tailored experience for your first professional role.

You will work closely with senior engineers, last year's graduates, and engineering management to discover what specific path you will go down. Some prefer hands-on, site-based operations engineering while others are far more comfortable strategising, negotiating, and developing engineering solutions from the office.

What You Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Finished/Finishing in 2019 (Will consider some exceptions for 2018 Graduates)
  • A keen interest in physics, mechanical valves, actuators, automation, oil and gas, overseas travel, offshore work.
  • Clear, concise and effective communication style.
  • VAC work or internships in the resource industry will be very beneficial and hold more value than Weighted Average Marks.
  • Minimum Weighted Average Mark 60+
  • Preferred Weighted Average Mark 70+

What Now?
Hold tight - There are always a large number of applications for graduate roles, the best thing to do now is do some brief research on the Oil & Gas industry to prepare for a possible interview. This role is due to begin in November/December of 2019 with first round interviews expected to take place in late October.

It could take up to 6 weeks for feedback to return on your application as we aim to give all applicants a fair chance to submit. If you are not a graduate engineer (2018 or 2019) you will not receive any feedback on your application. Best of luck and we hope to speak soon!
