The Role:
To lead & develop a team of Project Managers or major project; ensuring the projects are executed successfully, to an agreed specification, scope, quality, lead-time and cost; ensuring the on-time delivery and achievement of budgeted margin and cash.

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the following key activities:-

* Setting objectives, targets and direction within the team, in line with company objectives
* Mentor and support Project Manager and other Project Personnel, creating & executing personal development plans.
* Develop departmental improvement projects / initiatives, and implement in a continuous improvement environment.

* Clearly defining and communicating the scope of supply within the organisation.
* Managing the project schedule, identifying the critical path issues and developing mitigation actions to ensure on-time delivery.
* Project Risk Management, identification of risks and mitigation action plans.
* Development of effective working relationships with customers, being the central point of contact.
* Leading a Project team of internal department members, the Project Manager will motivate, take accountability for actions taken and develop a team working approach.
* Project Financial Management, disseminating costs /budgets to internal departments and tracking of these costs to the budget.
* Identify project changes to the original scope and create Change Requests for approval internally and externally, in order to maximise profit.
* Provide project forecasts for completion of equipment, services, cash milestones & margin.
* Understand the projects contractual requirements and ensure the business adheres to them.
* Delivery of cash milestones into the business.
* Provide reporting information for both internal and external use (customer specific reports) on a weekly / monthly basis.
* Participate in & run internal or external project review meetings
* Ensuring Health & Safety procedures are adhered to.

Our client is a global leader in engineering, design and manufacturing of pressure control and flow technologies for the oil and gas industry. Our client works on both onshore, offshore and subsea projects in some of the most remote locations in the world. Their interests in Australia are with offshore, onshore and subsea aspects on mega-LNG and oil projects.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Degree qualified (e.g. Eng, Business, and Supply Chain) or equivalent 5+ years experience in a project management role.
* Man-management experience, including skills for delegating, training & personnel development.
* Proven experience of a continuous improvement projects.
* Experience of Oil & Gas business or bespoke machinery / manufacture.
* Excellent communication & Interpersonal skills.
* Experience of project planning and cost control management
* Presentation and negotiation skills
* Problem solving ability.
* Leadership skills to include ability to motivate colleagues to achieve on-time delivery.
* PC skills to include, Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word & SAP knowledge preferable.
* Understanding & experience of contracts & there terminology
* Have the initiative & ability to work by themselves and as part of a team.
