Based in Mackay, QLD is an exciting opportunity to join a company highly regarded in providing Electrical services to the Mining, Power and Industrial industries.

The Role:
The Electrical Engineer (Transformer Division) position has responsibility for coordination of all technical and project related activities as assigned, including:-

  • Estimating, planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating assigned engineering and project management related work;
  • Monitoring work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices and company standards; and ensuring effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between all disciplines and all other project participants
  • Assist in the coordination of pricing, estimating, scoping strategies for proposed projects and the development and preparation of technical specifications for work
  • Travel to customer sites as required to inspect, scope and quote overhauls or repair work prior to transformers coming in to the workshop or to assist HV field service
  • Maintain product knowledge and diagnose customer product issues, providing assistance and advice with rectification work as required
  • Prepare designs, drawings, plans and specifications for each project as required and ensure ISO compliance
  • Accountable for the successful completion of engineering and workshop projects.
  • Develop and adhere to project engineering schedules
  • Coordinate and track engineering and project deliverable's
  • Undertake technical specification review and resolution
  • Disseminate technical information between internal departments and customers
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering project proposals
  • Ensure regular contact with project clients and stakeholders
  • Participate in customer / contractor meetings and the resolution of customer / engineering and management project issues

The successful candidate will have sufficient technical knowledge and awareness of details to be able to recognise when technical problems are developing in the various disciplines, and to initiate appropriate corrective actions. In addition, you will also have the below:

  • Engineering Degree (Electrical/ Electronic)
  • Unrestricted Manual Driver's License
  • Strong understanding of Electrical Design of Transformers, including oil analysis and interpretation
  • AutoCAD experience (beneficial)
