The Role:
The Electrical Project Engineer has responsibility for coordination of all technical and project related activities as assigned, including:-

  • Planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating assigned engineering and project management related work;
  • Monitoring work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices and company standards; and ensuring effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between all disciplines and all other project participants.
  • Build, establish and maintain effective customer relations to ensure continued customer satisfaction
  • Diagnose customer product issues, providing assistance and advice with rectification work as required
  • Accountable for the successful completion of engineering and workshop projects
  • Develop and adhere to project engineering schedules and forecasts
  • Coordinate and track engineering and project deliverable's
  • Schedule and monitor program activity to achieve "on-time" results including follow-up with external suppliers to ensure timely response to action items
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering project proposals
  • Obtain service and sales leads. Develop and present solutions/quotations to customers, follow up to obtain orders, as requested by immediate manager
  • Monitor project budget and trend tracking
  • Ensure regular and production contact with project clients
  • Participate in customer / contractor meetings and the resolution of customer / engineering and management project issues
  • Head project meetings to collect and disseminate information pertaining to projects
  • Provide monthly project status reports and change orders
  • Assist in the coordination of pricing, estimating, scoping strategies for proposed projects and in the development and preparation of technical specifications
  • Prepare designs, drawings, plans and specifications for each project as required
  • Participate in improvements in the workplace and be pro-active in improving efficiency.

The successful candidate will have the below:

  • Engineering Degree (Electrical/ Electronic)
  • Experience with AutoCAD (beneficial)
  • Engineers Australia Membership (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Prior experience in the Mining, Power or Industrial industries
  • Manual Drivers License
