The Role:
Control process start-up, shut-down and troubleshooting; Monitor outside process
equipment
* Make necessary adjustments on process parameters to meet daily production targets as
advised by the CCRO/Production Supervisor or his delegate.
* Isolate and prepare plant equipment for Maintenance activities and breakdown work.
* Act as Performing Authority within PTW system.
* Liaise with Materials Coordinator for stores and spare gear and monitor consumption for
Production Department materials.
* Act as Process isolating authority
* Be aware of any maintenance or engineering activity in area and liaise with appropriate
personnel to ensure work is carried out in a safe and timely manner.
* Ensure that all information entered in logs, reports, production records and BASSnet is
accurate and conforms to the integrated Facility Management System.
* Gather and compile data for daily production reports and maintain a comprehensive log of
all production activities.
* Participate in safety audits and programs.
* Fulfil Emergency Response Responsibilities and duties.
* Monitor and maintain chemical injection equipment and monitor dosage rates of process
fluids/gas efficiently. Report variances in the chemical usage and inventory into related
logbooks.

6.0 SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
As per designation the following applies as indicated by the relevant Process Owner.
6.1 PRODUCTION OPERATIONS
Production Technician:
* Production Technicians are given the proper and relevant guidance in the safe running of
the Process plant.
* Is clear on all operations priorities during the Pre-Operations & Commissioning Phases
and that this is communicated to the other departments.
6.2 TRAINING AND COMPETENCY
It is the policy of BAB that all work roles which are key to the safety of BAB operations are
performed by people who can discharge their responsibilities safely and effectively. This
applies to all BAB staff and contractors.
For the purpose of this policy, "Competency" shall be defined as the application of practical
and thinking skill, experience, knowledge and behaviour to a defined performance standard
expected in employment.
All work roles where an individual has accountability for safety critical activity will be
supported by a valid and reliable Competency Management System process.
