The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Strategic Sourcing Specialist to join a global and leading oil and gas operator. In this role you play a supporting role in realising downstream procurement's objective to become a world-class procurement organisation with leading capability in category management that delivers relevant, value-adding category strategies to the companies Downstream businesses.

The specialist provides dedicated strategic sourcing support to the category manager, and will be accountable for designated strategic sourcing activities such as, working with business stakeholders to understand business priorities and requirements, ensure the execution of the strategic sourcing strategy aligns with those needs and executing the related commercial negotiations.

The primary focus of the specialist role is to work with the category manager and the cross functional team to evaluate RFP proposals, facilitate bid defence/technical inquiries, develop negotiation strategy, and lead negotiations with suppliers. Ultimately you will be responsible for the execution of the sourcing strategies to deliver the objective of providing the business with a supply base that supports safe, reliable and efficient operations at the lowest cost.

The Specialist will work in close collaboration with regional Site Procurement Teams, and report indirectly to the Site Procurement Manager.

Stakeholder Management Support
* In support of the Category Manager, lead engagement interactions with cross functional teams and with suppliers.
* Generate communication content to ensure that sourcing/negotiation specific messages (such as status, plans, risks) are effectively disseminated across Steering Committee, project team, SME and stakeholder community
* Facilitate team meetings, workshops and Steering Committee meetings.

Sourcing, Negotiation and Contracting
* Support strategic sourcing including but not limited to stakeholder engagement, proposal evaluation, negotiation, and contracting
* Facilitate proposal evaluation sessions with key stakeholders
* Facilitate bid defence/technical inquiry sessions with suppliers
* Arrange and support supplier reference check and site visits
* Identify/analyse risks and develop mitigation plan by working with SME
* Develop and conduct negotiation strategy based on proposal evaluation, market insight and project timeline
* Facilitate the contract terms and condition negotiation

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
University degree in a technical or related equivalent business discipline.
MCIPS/ISM qualification, or at stage of pre-qualification, desirable.
Category strategy development and execution
Sourcing, contracting and contract management
Supplier management
Ariba e-sourcing or other e-procurement tools is desirable.
P2P processes, and SAP system
Demonstrable experience in the Maintenance Service category in manufacturing environment is preferable
Leading and managing projects across function teams
Minimum 5 years relevant tracked records in intensive negotiation and strategic sourcing project management
Season practitioner of commercial negotiation.
Demonstrated capability of influencing and stakeholder management.
Strength in organisational and project management.
Basic application in Financial and market analysis.
Proven communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills across all organizational level
