The Role:
Job Summary:
The role is concerned primarily with the development and testing of new corrosion inhibitors H2S scavengers although involvement in other production chemistry areas, may be required. The position is based in the E&S group that supports global technical and research activities.

- Reports to Research Scientist or Team Leader
- Interacts with Global R&D Manager, Research Scientists, Global Business Development Manager, Technical Services Personnel, Operational Personnel, Intellectual Property Personnel, Supply Chain Personnel, QHSE Personnel

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Laboratory testing of chemicals (mainly H2S Scavengers and corrosion inhibitors) using industry standard test methods
- Formulation and qualification of new products
- Recommends appropriate methods and solutions for projects.
- Recommends chemical treatment (H2S Scavengers and corrosion inhibitors) programs and monitoring regimes
- Participate in relevant customer and supplier meetings with or without team leader
- Performs standard assignments which can be non-routine involving research, testing, trouble shooting and problem solving.
- Contribute to industry publications/conferences
- Support of sales and other regional technical teams as required
- Participation in industry conferences.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Previous Experience and Competencies:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant physical science discipline e.g. chemistry, physics, etc.
- Experience of working in a laboratory environment, preferably within the oil and gas industry
- Minimum of 1 - 2 years oilfield chemical experience in corrosion
- Knowledge of oilfield production chemicals, preferably corrosion inhibitors and H2S scavengers

- Solutions Experience: Helps to develops product/project/research solutions.
- Input to Business Strategy: Contributes to technical strategy and planning.
- Mentor & Community Leadership: Contributes to Eureka; supports a technical group/community.
- Professional Visibility: Industry/client/professional society /academic recognition throughout geographic spread of Geomarket/RDM center/WG Region or Product Line. Client may be internal.
