The Role:
* Part of the Etinde Project management team (IPMT)

* Management of Contractor Project HSE deliverables, ensuring that project design incorporates and implements Company Standards, IFC Performance Standards, HSE Guidelines & HSE Regulations and fully compliant requirements.
* Support alignment with New Age project management process requirements
* Effective implementation of HSE Philosophies and Execution/Management Plans;
* Act as a project Risk Champion.
* Ensuring HSE design specifications meet Company expectations;
* HSE screening /review meetings and communications with other disciplines to verify and ensure that HSE requirements are well understood and properly taken care of by all concerned;
* Coordinate and supervise the HSE Engineering team in projects, including Technical Safety, Human Factors Engineering, Noise Control, and Environmental Engineering;
* Perform and/or supervise the detailed design of fire and explosion protection systems, F&G detection; hazardous area classification;
* Coordinate interface with JV partners and Safety Consultants;
* Support Safety & Environmental -related aspects, such as permit application and regulatory compliance;

Who we are looking for:
.* Minimum 10-15 years experiences in upstream oil and gas, 5-10 years focused upon project safety and environmental engineering ideally with field exposure and process knowledge
* Membership of relevant professional and industry association preferred
* Be able to read, comprehend, and interpret complex regulations and laws
* Track record in project HSE engineering roles in FEED and EPC contracts including offshore/onshore facility and pipeline design and construction, installation, hook-up and commissioning and production operations.
* Knowledge of the IFC Performance standards and their implementation in design.
* Fluent in English both written and spoken
* Working in multi-disciplinary teams in disparate geographical locations;
* Highly computer literate with MS Office suite of programs as a minimum
* Be credible and possess gravitas, be acknowledged as a technical expert and a "go to" advisor on safety and environmental engineering matters
* International mobility and willingness to travel.

This is initially a 9-month contract role based in Kuala Lumpur.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Bachelor degree in a technical discipline, preferably safety/chemical/process.
* Master degree in technical Safety or Environmental Engineering or demonstrable experience.
* Extensive knowledge of current international health, safety and environmental management practices.
* Beneficial to have additional HSE engineering knowledge in consequence modelling software.
