A driven, reliable and personable HSE Advisor wanted for a permanent opportunity in the Banana Shire Region, Central QLD.

This is a FIFO role from Brisbane, based on site 2hrs west of Gladstone/ Rockhampton offering a family friendly roster.

The Role:

  • Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with all company HSE standards and procedures
  • Identify potential safety and environment hazards and handle accordingly
  • Promote and develop safe work practice's onsite and maintain a duty of care at all times
  • Ensure that all accidents and near misses are reported and addressed accordingly
  • Ensure consistent implementation, adherence and compliance to relevant HSE legislation
  • Participate in HSE audits, JSA's, investigations and the completion of corrective and preventive action items
  • Ability to develop tactical and strategic plans to address safety issues
  • Support the implementation and management of the HSE management systems
  • Conduct HSE general compliance and hazard inspections as per the set inspection schedule
  • Coordinate site environmental monitoring and perform tasks where necessary
  • Assist in coordination, implementation and review of the HSE management and work procedure documents
  • Understanding of training principles and their application in addressing HSE issue's
  • Participate in site toolbox talks and safety meetings
  • Coordinate compliance activity tracking and reporting

The ideal candidate will have the below:

  • 5 + years' experience in HSE in an operational environment such as mining, oil & gas, manufacturing, construction or similar
  • Qualifications in WH&S, Environmental or similar
  • Knowledge of various Australian ISO Standards such as 4801, 9001 and 14001
  • Familiarity with permit to work systems
  • Strong commitment to promoting health and safety in the workplace
  • Experience with the delivery and assessment qualification of formal incident investigation training and risk assessment facilitation qualification
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a personable approach
  • Ability to work autonomously and unsupervised
  • Intermediate skillset with Microsoft Office
  • Commitment to a FIFO rostered position
