The Role:

Within the MozLNG (Upstream) Project team, assistance is required in the management and administration of the subsea / SURF major EPCI and COMPANY PROVIDED ITEMS contracts ($ 1.5bn ++), with a strong focus on contractual risks management


* Generally, assist the UPS C&P Manager in the monitoring of contractual risks activities related to the Project Upstream Package
* Ensure compliance with all external and internal procedural obligations governing the Project contracting activities (Law Decrees, Joint Operating Agreement, Contract and Procurement procedures, Company Rules...)
* Assess and report risks of claims and make necessary recommendations for improvement plans and strategies
* Participate in reducing contractual risks associated with contracts interfaces i) within the Upstream Package and ii) with other packages by highlighting potential misalignments during the execution of the contracts
* Assess the validity of variation requests and/or claims, participate in negotiations and make recommendations for fair and balanced agreements / settlements
* Liaise with all project internal stakeholders as necessary (PMT, legal, insurance …)
* The daily activities include:
- Monitoring of on-going contracts status, participate in contracts change orders and amendments discussions
- Review of all contract documents, correspondences, reports, minutes of meetings and the like
- Ensure and organize with the team the collection and centralization of documentation in view of defending potential variation requests from contractors and suppliers
- Coach the contract engineers in their daily contract administration activities
- Monitor KPIs dedicated to the performance of contract management
- Ensure strict confidentiality on all contractual and commercial documentation

Context and environment:

The Senior Contracts Engineer works in an interdisciplinary and multicultural environment and participates in the global performance of the project by contributing to the execution and administration of the Upstream Subsea key contracts in line with the Project Governance and objectives and in compliance with Project standards and requirements.

Qualifications/Experience required:

The Service Provider must have the following qualifications:
* Qualified Contracts engineer with proven experience on similar contracts: EPC/EPCI construction contracts, subsea installation, subsea equipment and packages
* Knowledge and understanding of contract processes in projects
* Very strong knowledge in construction law and proven experience in management of Oil & Gas project construction and installation contracts preferably on offshore / subsea packages
* Good general knowledge and understanding of project control, commercial, legal and insurance issues affecting the Company in general, and "in depth" understanding where relevant to construction and supply contracts
* Knowledge and understanding of different means of contractor remuneration and their commercial implications, practical experience of their use.
* Good communication, organizational skills, capabilities to take workload & work under pressure, able to work in a multicultural environment.
* Professional experience: over 20 years, practical, relevant and progressive experience in preparation, negotiation, monitoring of technical contracts in the offshore / marine oil and gas sector.
* Professional experience with national contractors in regions implementing industrial national content regulations
* Cultural awareness and ability to promote a healthy working relationship with contractors and Suppliers
* Professional experience with TOTAL is a plus
* Fluent in English
