The Role:
DEPARTMENT: Planning & Design
REPORTING TO: Head, DGM (Design Interface)

JOB PURPOSE:
Senior professional engineer with strong interface expertise to identify and manage the interfaces between the various packages of work on the project.
The Interface AGM will lead & implement an effective Interface Management strategy for the project. He's also expected to provide Project Management with continuous advice and support to ensure that the Railway Systems Interfaces are properly managed between the various Railway System components as well such as Civil, Structural, MEP and Architectural interfaces.
This is technical position for a technically qualified engineer with a strong track record in Interface Management of railway system interfaces.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Lead and manage the interfacing team to ensure proper coordination and daily execution of interfacing works for Project.
2. Develop the interfacing strategy and planning for completing the systems interfaces activities of the rail project to ensure that those necessary interfaces activities can be accomplished in timely manner throughout the project life cycle
3. Ensure the deliverables of interfaces from the contractors meets the contract's requirements and standards
4. Conduct and chair interface meetings with interface works package contractors and designated interface stakeholders
5. Attend coordination meetings with stakeholders and communicate issues & concerns concerning coordination, approvals and system interface issues. Manage and offer real-time mitigation strategies to the interface resolution process to ensure that all interface conflicts will be addressed and resolved.
6. Lead & train young engineers on technical aspects of transit design, interdisciplinary coordination, railway system, operations as well as MEP building services. He's also expected to impart project management knowledge to the engineers under him to ensure the seamless execution of the Project.

1. Availability of technical training relevant to interface and multi discipline coordination
2. Managing the participation of the employees in tandem with their availability and work/project schedule

WORK ENVIRONMENT
1. The role is expected to be well informed of current best practices and trend in similar field
2. The incumbent should be well aware of the international standards, local requirement and regulations, statutory requirement and local culture and norms

DECISION-MAKING LEVEL:
Overall responsibility in the absence of the HOD for Interface. General advisory and decision making in line with company requirement for daily operations.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
i) Internal:
Internal management of various stakeholders for project life cycle as well as the
strategic improvement of the company

ii) External:
Liaison with external parties such as authority, regulators, contractors, consultants
and suppliers to stay relevant of current industry requirement

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCY:
1. Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Civil/Structural or other relevant Engineering with at least 15 years of experience preferably in railway related projects.
2. High degree of technical proficiency in design and construction of complex rail systems and strong knowledge in the modern railway systems and their interfaces.
3. Experience of managing interfaces for infrastructure and systems, ideally on a rail project

4. Knowledge of design and construction management aspects of railway projects including interface and coordination with various stakeholders

5. Minimum of 7 years in leadership capacity
6. Good command of spoken and written English. Multi-lingual will be added advantage.
7. Able to communicate with different level of people in a multi-national project environment and motivate the project activities for timely delivery
