The Role:
The scope will cover all civil / building works:
o Construction and delivery of Civil Engineering Works associated with the Construction of the Ancillary Buildings; incoming services coordination.
o Surveillance of the Ground works, Structure, envelope, MEP and fitout.
o Managing NNB Field Changes and Non- Conformity processes
o M&E, IT&T, FF&E coordination with The end user contractors.
o Commissioning and Handover of building to Site Operations/ FM team

This post will supervise the activity of the Ancillary Buildings Contract Partner and Interfaces with follow on packages

The person would need to have an excellent technical knowledge from earthworks through to fitout of structures/ buildings. Ideally from the rail, industrial, hospitals, or smaller power plant projects. There needs to be an ability to objectively assess, in a pragmatic way, methods of works, on paper and in the field to support/ carryout surveillance as a Client rather than a contractor's point of view.

What is key to the roles are the abilities to manage potential significant daily and weekly challenges that HPC provides, in a professional, non-adversarial way, week in week out, interfacing daily with the other Tier 1 contractors and NNB MDT delivery managers, upholding the NNB core values.

The Company:
Hinkley Point C is a nuclear site, based in West Somerset, 15 miles from Bridgwater. The NNB ambition is to build two major EPR nuclear plants, and the position will be part of HPC site construction team. Due to the scale of this project, the programme duration and the immovable completion date, the Area Construction Delivery Manager should have experience in delivering large projects.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Experience and knowledge of construction sequencing, recovery plans and resource allocation
* Good understanding of the post holder's obligations under CDM Regulations
* Working knowledge in the delivery of projects (ability to communicate the HPC processes and procedures at site level)
* Be able to write informative, concise and meaningful reports
* Motivate and energise contract partners by building a climate of trust and understanding and actively seeking alternative views and opinions.
* Possess excellent organisation and communication skills
* Tertiary qualifications in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Construction management, or equivalent vocational training and experience
* Collaborate with other managers to effectively manage operations of the site
* Adopt a results-focussed mind set, using initiative wherever possible and taking personal responsibility and accountability to ensure necessary action is taken to deliver excellence, value and quality.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* Experience of operating in a high security environment advantageous (regulated by ONR and Local Authority Building Control)
* Experience within the Nuclear environment is advantageous but can be off-set by experience within Civil Engineering or Construction
* Knowledge of French can be an advantage
