The Role:
Key objectives:
* To supervise a resourced robust baseline project schedules.
* To oversee the co-ordination and production of all project plans and associated documents such as 'S' Curves, Histograms, Tabulated man hour / progress data.
* Provide the Management Team with the relevant contract information.
* Ensure that all services and deliverables conform to Company, Client and Project QA Plan, policies, requirements and standards.
Prime responsibilities and duties:
* To implement the Company Safety Policy and the arrangements described in the Company and area Safety Management System documents in relation to the Planning function.
* To promote good working relations within the Project Controls Teams and other project departments and client representatives.
* To ensure all planning work is carried out in compliance with Corporate and Project specific procedures.
* To control, directly supervise, monitor and guide the day-to-day activities of the Planning team.
* To supervise the production of resourced robust baseline project schedules.
* To ensure the requisite quality of data in the Brownfield Management Suite is maintained.
* To oversee the co-ordination and production of all project plans and associated documents.
* To ensure the timely issue of updated plans and associated documents accurately at the agreed intervals.
* To liaise with the Client Planner on all relevant matters.
* To carry out planning team competency assessment and development and carry out all Personal Development Reviews for relevant staff members.
* To report at a contract level to the Management Team.
* To work with the Risk Team on any plans which require to be risked.
Competencies:
* Capable of setting up and managing a team to deliver the planning objectives and achieve targets/milestones
* Able to ensure a comprehensive set of planning procedures and departmental work instructions are developed and maintained
* Capable of communicating with project groups and third parties to agree standards, systems, processes to meet the project and Client requirements
* Capable of proposing improvements/developments of systems and processes
* Able to carry out performance reviews and appraisals of planning personnel in team
* Capable of identifying and managing planning related improvement initiatives
* Capable of managing a coordinated approach to resolving procedural issues in a timely manner
* Capable of developing and maintaining of performance targets
* Capable of system administration and account managing

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Minimum 10 years of project control /planning experience
* Minimum 5 years as lead or senior planner, responsible large size EPC or EPC portfolio scopes
* Specialist knowledge in project control systems (Primavera P6)
* Previous experience in controlling, directing, supervising and managing the day to day activities of a planning team
* Previous experience of carrying out performance reviews and appraisals with project controls personnel
* Engineering Degree (or equivalent)
* Full working rights in Malaysia.
Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* Member of a Professional Institution
* Extensive working knowledge of the offshore oil and gas industry or downstream petrochemical industry
* Knowledge of various electronic project control applications
* Ability to carry out departmental audit on both the system and the processes
* Experienced in writing and maintaining of departmental procedures
