About our client:
Our client is an Oil & Gas operator with a long history of oil exploration and production in Iraq. Today, they are working to develop the third-largest producing field in the world, estimated to have around 17 billion barrels of recoverable oil remaining.

About the role:
ITC has formulated an analytics strategy that is being rolled out across multiple disciplines. A need for having a Data Specialist has been identified who will assist the ITC Applications Team in driving the Analytics programme forward with hands-on implementation of various analytics projects across the organisation.

Responsibilities:
As a Data Specialist, you'll need to:

- Identify key data entities, relationships and ownership
- Generate a consistent entity data model and data process workflow
- Set up and maintain automated data processes
- Create interactive data visualisation in the form of reports and dashboards
- Monitor and audit data quality
- Liaise with internal and external clients to fully understand data content, gather, understand and document detailed business requirements using appropriate tools and techniques
- Design and carry out surveys and analyse survey data
- Manipulate, analyse and interpret complex data sets relating to the relevant discipline\department
- Mine and analyse large datasets and draw valid inferences

Education:
- University degree in the field of Computer Science / IT discipline or related equivalent experience.

Skills & Experience:
- A proven track record in Data Management and/or Analytics
- Demonstrable understanding of diverse, multicultural work environment
- Strong Analytical skills, with a bias for action, and a good understanding of all IT technologies including
- Experience of:
* Highly Experience with reporting and data visualisation tools (Power BI preferred)
* Experience of working with data standardization and consolidation
* Oil and Gas Domain knowledge
* Excellent numerical and analytical skills
* Experience of working with relational databases
* Knowledge of data modelling, data mining, data cleansing and data enrichment techniques
* Knowledge of data analysis tools
* Experience on statistical methodologies
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and able to work with staff at all levels in an organisation
- Proactive thinking - the ability to come up with options and solutions
- Good attention to detail
- Delivery focused
- Willing to challenge and be challenged

Desirable Criteria & Qualifications:
- Experienced with DB profiling and DBA Activities.
