The Role:
The role will be based in the fabrication yard and will be responsible for monitoring and assessing the construction and commissioning of the 28 Electrical and Instrumentation buildings. These buildings will include MV/LV transformers, LV Switchgear/MCC, UPS, HVAC Pressurisation System to NFPA 496, Instrumentation Cabinets, telecoms system cabinets and Small Power and Lighting. The role will require a thorough understanding of the project and contractual requirements for the scope as well as a thorough understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code requirements.

The successful applicant will have to monitor the installation and commissioning activities being performed by the EPC contractor, and its sub contractor's (OEMs etc.) and report back to the LNGC Electrical and Instrumentation Engineers on progress and any issues which arise.

Key Responsibilities

* Works closely with the Client, EPC contractor and Module Yard organizations to grow and nurture a strong HSSE culture supporting HSSE performance and goal zero.Takes personal responsibility for keeping all people safe.
* Attend all critical witness points for all testing and commissioning activities (ITRs) on Electrical, Instrumentation, telecoms, building Fire and gas and HVAC systems to ensure compliance with regulatory (CEC) and project requirements.
* Represent Client for walk-down and handover activities conducted for the Electrical, Instrumentation, telecoms, HVAC and building fire and gas scopes.
* Survey and inspect Electrical, Instrumentation and HVAC installation activities to ensure that it is of a high quality and meets regulatory (CEC) and project requirements.
* Liase and communicate with OEM site representatives when at the yard to determine that specific manufacturer installation, testing and commissioning requirements are being followed.
* Monitor and report to Client engineers if the EPC contractor is following manufacturer requirements and project specifications for preservation and storage of electrical, instrument, HVAC equipment and consumables.
* Monitor that the EPC contractor is following approved practices during installation, testing and commissioning of Electrical, Instrumentation and HVAC equipment to preserve and protect the installed equipment (e.g. climate and dust control of buildings, appropriate testing and installation techniques and equipment etc.)
* Inspect and audit Electrical, Instrumentation, HVAC equipment and consumables which arrive at the yard to ensure they are in compliance with regulatory and project requirements in particular that they meet CSA requirements.
* Monitor the EPC contractors progress for the Electrical, Instrumentation and HVAC scopes inline with the approved project schedule and advise the onsite Client senior project engineer on areas of concern where there is a possible impact to the project schedule.
* Actively support and enable the Flawless project delivery (FPD) implementation program in the yard

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Hands on experience for the installation of electrical equipment for LV voltage levels (relevant qualifications and job history preferably to construction technician or construction supervisor level)
* Hands on experience for the commissioning of electrical equipment for LV voltage levels (relevant qualifications and job experience to commissioning supervisor level)
* A detailed understanding and hands on experience of electrical equipment for hazardous areas for North American and Canadian applications (industry recognized qualifications to be provided)
* Beneficial to have experience and good working knowledge of HVAC systems used for pressurization in Hazardous Areas (NFPA496)
* Good knowledge of Instrumentation buildings and cabinet installation
* Good knowledge of building fire and gas systems
* The role will require frequent communication with the engineers based at different locations and often in different countries.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* Knowledge and hands on experience of the Canadian Electrical Code
* Experience of construction and commissioning on electrical equipment built to North American standards in particular for:
1. LV Switchgear and MCC's (IEEE/UL/CSA)
2. Power Transformers (IEEE)
3. UPS
