The Role:
Purpose & Accountabilities:
Reporting to the Environmental Compliance Lead, the Environmental Compliance Advisor is responsible for the successful implementation of the clients' compliance management system (CMS), including coordinating closure of compliance commitments and tasks, reporting of compliance statistics and supporting compliance assurance processes for the clients' project.
The Environmental Compliance Advisor provides day to day support to functional teams across the business on compliance commitments, compliance task tracking, appropriate verification and operational controls.The Environmental Compliance Advisor acts as the primary focal for the CMS and is responsible for the continual improvement of the system and integration of the management system across contractor interfaces.

* Support a safety-first culture in the project supporting the clients' journey to be the Safest Project on Earth.
* Management of CMS tracking tools (databases, operational controls) to verify and assure compliance across the organization.
* Lead and support compliance reporting to Joint Venture partners, internal leadership and functional subject matter experts
* Lead and support development of tools and processes to facilitate compliance across the organization, including management plans as required
* Support awareness of compliance through all levels of the construction organization

* It is expected that the successful candidate for this position will reside work from the Calgary, Alberta Location with some business travel to Canadian locations including (but not limited to): Kitimat and Vancouver for periods less than one-week
* High paced work environment with a varied compliance subject matter

Skills & Requirements:
* Minimum of 4-year Degree related to Science or Engineering field or similar technical background with increased experience.
* Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements in British Columbia, in particular related to project development and construction
* Expertise in management system design, implementation and continual improvement, specifically as it relates to compliance
* Highly skilled in compliance verification principles and processes
* Proficient in Microsoft systems including Microsoft Word and Excel
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, particularly with building relationships with internal and external parties.
* Good listening, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, good team working skills in multi-cultural environment.

* Demonstrated experience with internal audit processes and execution
* Working knowledge of compliance management system design, implementation, assurance and continual improvement
* Knowledge of ISO 14001 management system structures
* Knowledge of StakeTracker
