The Role:
Purpose & Accountabilities:
Provide marine technical and coordination support for the client within the areas of marine operations, port/terminal facilities development and/or Liquefied Natural Gas cargo transfer including support for Risk Management, Marine Emergency Management and Quality Maritime Assurance activities.

* To assist in the different areas of marine administration for technical and report writing, document control, preparation of presentations, monitoring contract and or project compliance with Canadian and International Regulations.
* Support the planning and coordination logistics for marine related activities.
* Assist in the preparation of project execution plans and schedules.
* Assist with Health, Safety, Security, Environmental (HSSE) audits, contractor assessments, vessel inspections, reviews, risk assessments and incident investigations for marine activities at the terminal.
* Coordinate with external contractors.
* Assist in developing marine operational standards ensuring that all marine related activities are covered by fit for purpose processes, consistent with the Maritime Process Model.
* Assist in the development and maintenance of Terminal Operation Manual, Port Information Book and associated documents.
* Assist in ship/shore compatibility studies (including mooring) for client carriers at the terminal.
* Contribute to maintaining appropriate active marine contracts.
* General administrative assistance with Marine Team on a day to day basis.
* Ensure that all documentation and certification compliance is maintained at all times.

Skills & Requirements:
General knowledge and moderate experience in Marine Deck / Engineering, Maritime Studies, Naval Architecture or Port and Logistics Management together with 3-5 years of experience in the marine industry. Knowledge and experience of marine activities, including port and terminal operations, such as Planning, HSSE is desirable.
Primary competencies required:
* Excellent analytical skills as well as excellent oral and written communications skills coupled with time management abilities.
* Energetic, self-motivated team player, strong work ethic, positive attitude, adaptable, proactive and possess the ability to work effectively while mentoring with colleagues in a team cross-cultural environment and or independently.
* Ability to work with a wide variety of stakeholders including regulatory authorities, Federal, Provincial and Territorial government agencies, First Nations etc.
* Strong appreciation for safety ensuring Health, Safety and Environment are complied with at all times through situational awareness and effective communication.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel), Simply Safety Programs, SharePoint, etc.
* Understanding of Canadian Regulations (CSA 2001) and major International Maritime Standards (SOLAS, ISM, ISSC, BWM, etc.).
