The Role:
* Lead necessary actions and measures to maintain and develop business to achieve business targets and KPIs for Japanese OEMs in motorcycle/small engine segment. Coordinate with GKAM, JV partners, R&D, local commercial teams, local production sites and other BASF functions globally to implement business strategy. Actively involve and contribute business strategy and MTO development. Responsible for TAA, 2 & 4 wheelers.
* Implementation of the business strategies
* Take leading role to continuously improve the commercial results according to defined strategies, via commercial proposals, opportunity findings, technology promotion, smooth launch management and development strategies.
* Define customer needs and product application to enhance sales achievement
* Conduct market research via visits, calls, interviews etc to understand and identify customers' expectations and needs. Obtain and coordinate data and information from team members and peers. Develop lists of potential customers after research of the data
* Provide inputs to determine the application of the agreed product and service by evaluating product and service marketability and customers' technical needs
* Maintain up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical development that effect target markets
* Work with the GKAM, AE, R&D, customer service and logistics personnel to establish a communication channel with customers to ensure sales success.
Business management:
* Develop sales and marketing proposals to trace customer needs on consumption analysis, product/ service performance, technical services needs
* Maintain up-to-date awareness of market activities, industry trends and support business development
* Deliver and/or participate sales presentations/ workshop/ trade road show/ workshops to promote/ introduce products/services, to enhance business development
* Maintain direct contact with key customers' key personnel and steer/support team members to work with customers and internal functions to resolve problems/ expedite matters.
* Participate in meetings for customer problem resolution; if necessary, work with customer services personnel to deal with problems, complaints.
* Manage customers for all aspects, not only commercial topics (pricing, delivery, cost reduction request etc) but also launch preparation and technical/quality issues, by working with stakeholders - GKAM, local sites (especially BCIL), Trading company etc - closely
Credit management:
* Provide customer credit information for company credit control function, ensure timely payment of receivables to meet established sales targets and revenue goals.
Market intelligence:
* coordinate with global marketing to obtain, update and evaluate market trends, emission regulation enforcement, application of products/technology, service needs, competition, etc to sustain business development in long run
* Regularly update Customers' all platform list, including catalyst supplier (not only BASF but also our competitors) & substrate suppliers
* Keep contact with value chain partners (substrate suppliers/trading companies/muffler manufactures) as well as OEMs to obtain customer's and market information.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in Chemical engineer or Chemistry
* Minimum 10 years of professional experience in dealing with customers and also foreign enterprises.
* Strong leadership, particularly for virtual team crossing different factions
* Demonstrated strategic thinking ability and demonstrated ability to implement business plans.
* Must be willing and able to travel over 50% of the time.
* Computer literacy, MS Office, SAP
* Fluent spoken and written English skill and fluent spoken Japanese skill
* Motorcycle industry knowledge is preferred
