The Role:
Primary Function

This is a key account management role responsible for the sales, delivery, contracting, pricing, quality management, technical and trade finance support of all seaborne iron ore and pellets to the global suite of group customers.
Key Responsibilities

*Strategically manage the global account of all Group customers by region, asset and products.
*Achieve or overperform BP sales volumes, revenue and price targets by trading the physical sales book, negotiating contract pricing, products, terms and conditions and coordinating the delivery of products in line with contract and transfer / pricing terms, commercial governance processes and business strategic objectives.
*Ensure all key stakeholder relationships in the Group are optimized; including customers, asset leaders, R&D, port and mine operators, schedulers and planners, shipping and finance on a continuous basis.
*Map, define and recommend regional strategies for the group, products, logistics and finance; including the development of long and short term product strategies in line with group supply, demand and strategic objectives to maxmise group value.
*Translate external market, competitive, financial and technical information into group value generating initiatives; including but not limited to VIU price modelling, new product design and services.
*Prepare and submit all deal sheets to Sales Book & Pricing Manager, inclusing but not limited to data input for S&OP, CRC and TPAF as per coroporate and commercial governance processes.
*Strategy, Budget, BAR preparation and input.
*Develop and maintain customer management program.
*Develop and deliver presentations as required for MET.
*Extensive travel required to assets, customers, plants, external conferences and regional offices.
*Manage and develop 1 direct report - Market Administrator (Group Sales).

Strategic Objectives
Maximisation of Group value through the optimisation of products and pricing for both upstream and downstream businesses in Mining and Steel.

Key (3‐4) major business challenges or objectives job holder will need to address or drive in the next 12‐24 months

*Define 10 year internal Group demand and align with mining production and project pipeline.
*Significant input into commercial cloud based digital platform project.
*Action 2020 target achievement.
*Top Line Revenue Target $50M (2018)

Emerging external and internal forces impacting the strategic priorities of the unit/organization
*Disruptive market forces on price and freight (ie Vale & IOCC) affecting VIU competitives and NRP.

Key stakeholders & relationships that need to be managed by the position holder
*GM ‐ Head of Commercial
*Salesbook & Pricing Manager
*Lead Buyers (Group)
*Technical Marketing, R&D
*Asset Leaders (Upstream and Downstream)
*Asset Port, Rail, Quality, Mining personnel.
*Trade Finance Manager
*Marketing Adminstrator (Direct Report)
*Marketing Manager - Non Group Sales
*Key Group Personnel (Upstream)

Measures of success after the first 1‐2 years
*Contract performance optimised
*Pricing / revenue targets achieved.
*Projects backed with group demand.
*Action 2020 initiatives developed and capitalised.

Organizational knowledge (e.g., systems, processes, products, services, etc.) necessary to operate effectively in this job

*A deep knowledge of the company group mining and steel businesses is required.
*Understanding of Group Corporate and Commercial governance processes.

The Company:
A global mining organisation

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
*The position requires international and domestic experience (5+ years) in global dry bulk (especially iron making raw materials) sales and marketing, rail, port, seaborne logistics, trade finance, product technical and quality knowledge with specific experience or knowledge of the group customer / mill portfolio.
