The Role:
Fircroft are seeking a planning and Schedule engineer for a contract position within Kazakhstan

Work Pattern: RESIDENTIAL
Location: Atyrau

Job Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Ensuring that all project work activities are implemented in accordance with the Project Management System (NPMS) and industry best practices where applicable.
Conceiving, implementing and/or participating in capital efficiency improvement initiatives
Considering ways for continuous improvement of Planning & Schedule performance within NDD and CONTRACTOR(s) working on NDD project activities.
Coordinating internal communications and relations with staff regarding Planning & Schedule subject matter.
Providing advice and, whenever necessary, hands on support in such activities as Planning & Schedule, Critical Path Analysis, Risk Identification and Mitigation, Schedule Recovery opportunities, Schedule Estimate Basis Memorandum, productivity data acquisition and data analysis, schedule estimating tools and benchmarks development and maintenance, project controls, and project schedule reporting.
Providing Planning & Schedule, including Project Schedule Controls, input and guidance on PT activities
Providing periodic review, technical analyses and recommendation of CONTRACTOR(s) schedules. Participate in the Cold Eyes Reviews (CER) of PT activities.
Participating in the review of CONTRACTOR(s) Schedules and Productivity Analysis and related documentation and ensuring their adherence to NPMS expectations and good working practices.
Providing advice on diverse Planning & Scheduling and Schedule Controls issues relating to all aspects of project management, construction, and equipment/plant activities.
Liaise and provide critical coordination and interface management between projects and operations Turnaround Teams in support of Brownfield Projects.
Develop Office staff capabilities, awareness and involvement in Planning & Scheduling and effective Schedule Controls activities.
Participate in capturing estimate lessons learned and best practices
Ability to have a sound understanding on the following operations, construction and commissioning work activities
Civil
Mechanical,Construction, Fabrication, and Installation/HUC techniques
Production Surface Equipment and Facilities
Production Turnaround activities and processes
Will directly train and assist in mentoring all NDD Planning & Schedule and Project Cost and Controls Engineers. Will assist with training and mentoring of Cost Estimating Engineers.

Experience in reviewing, commenting, developing and communicating Planning & Schedule related documentation and training materials i.e. processes and procedures, method statements, plans, and training materials etc.
Good knowledge of Project Management processes, with specific demonstrated expertise in Greenfield and Brownfield Capital Project Planning & Scheduling and Project Schedule Controls systems of work, development processes, and reporting systems and ability to establish and maintain them.
(Experience in developing and implementing Corporate-wide Planning & Scheduling processes would be an advantage).
Good interpersonal and communication skills and ability to create friendly working environment.
Ability to be an effective coach and mentor, work alone unsupervised, or as member of a team.
Strong analytical skills, with demonstrated ability to provide independent critical thinking needed to analyze large amounts of data, identify potential future risks and likelihood of occurrence, determine potential mitigation steps, and clearly communicate opportunities and risks to PT and NDD Management
Good ability to read, write, understand and explain English versions of Planning & Scheduling documentation and related processes, and be able to effectively share the information with others, in particular national staff;
Proficiency with basic computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) with good verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
Proficiency in use of current versions of industry scheduling tools (e.g. Primavera)

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Qualification & Experience Requirements:
Degree in Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent;
8+ years direct Planning & Scheduling work history, with 10+ years oil and gas industry experience
Supervisory experience or leading a Planning & Schedule team on a large upstream or downstream project
Capital Project assignment experience covering multiple phases of project phases (concept, selection, definition, execution, handover to operations) and associated milestones
Knowledgeable with capital project management framework, key work processes and best practices
Past assignments and demonstrated proficiency in several project management skill areas (e.g. project management, project controls, execution planning, cost estimating, planning & scheduling)
Experience or significant interface opportunities with Contracting & Procurement, Finance-Controllers, Development Planning
