The Role:
The Bid Manager is responsible for the preparation and development of technical and commercial proposals integrating the Company's services into a Solution. In this position the bid manager assists the sales team in developing the bid strategy and provides support during Client facing and proposal bid clarifications meetings. In this position the bid manager will be responsible for both technical and commercial bid activities:

· Evaluate client's concepts and/or requirements to identify and develop the business solution winning strategy and scope of supply while interfacing with company business units, to prepare sales deliverables and/or proposals.

· Define and prepare applicable scope RFQ packages to internal company business units and external suppliers.

· Prepare the scope of supply cost estimate, schedule, technical risk assessment, and develop proposal pricing.

Position Responsibilities and Duties:

· Lead the company sales teams in the development of selling strategies including input to the offered solution, sales presentations and proposal value proposition.

· Lead the Opportunity review, interpretation and compliance with Client tender requisition documents, specifications and datasheets.

· Develop and manage bid and negotiation internal budgets.

· Drive a competitive costing approach to incorporate the Company's complete portfolio of services.

· Coordinate all services and engineering input for the bid to the Client.

· Review and evaluate Vendor quotations including preparation of vendor bid clarifications and technical bid analysis. Vendor's quotation documents may include technical scope of supply, equipment datasheets and specifications, calculations, fabrication schedules, and inspection/test plans, etc.

· Drive a thorough technical risk assessment process analyzing all risks associated with technology, vendors, local economic conditions, local labor conditions, schedule, and general construction risks.

· Participate with negotiations teams

· Prepare complete technical and commercial proposals, including scope of supply, proposal deliverables, and comments to Client tender specifications and documents, cost estimate and pricing.

· Prepare and submit internal company Order Entry documentation upon award of project.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Position Qualifications (Required and Preferred):

· BS in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience

· At least 10 years of engineering work experience with an EPC or OEM company in the Oil & Gas industry. Pipeline experience is preferred.

· Knowledge of facility design for Oil and Gas upstream, midstream and downstream projects preferred.

· Working experience in the development of commercial and technical bidding/quoting processes.

· Ability to process complex and linear thinking.

· Self-driven and resourceful to achieve goals independently as well as work well in groups.

· Attention to detail.

· Flexibility to adjust and thrive in an environment with changing requirements, schedules and priorities for multiple projects or assignments.

· The ability to conceptualize and socialize ideas, make recommendations and drive team consensus
