The Role:
Project Controls Manager

An exciting Opportunity for a Group Project Controls Manager
The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and leading project control activities within our clients capital expenditure portfolio and will be assigned into priority projects as required to lead the execution or to support an existing project management team.

The Project Controls Manager will be responsible for the development and monitoring of enterprise project control arrangements and the coordination of all aspects of schedules, planning and cost estimate development for assigned small - large scale Engineering Procurement & Construction (EPC) projects (£1m- £200m)

Key responsibilities
* Establish, direct and lead all enterprise project control activities associated with the design, construction and commissioning of assigned capital projects / programmes.
* Develop overall integrated plans and budgets for assigned project / programmes for the whole of their lifecycle and establish effective and fully transparent reporting and controls.
* Responsible for the management of direct reports within the ePMO. Directing these roles in establishing Group frameworks within their specific areas of expertise.
* Work in collaboration with other key project stakeholders internally and externally to the extent necessary to develop accurate schedules and cost forecasts.
* Act as the key contact and subject matter expert for control of work against schedule and definition of project / programme progress.
* Assist the Capital Projects Director in developing a Project & Programme controls capability, including the introduction of Earned Value principles and processes.
* Development of appropriate Project and Programme Controls processes, procedures & validation of project staffing plans and to create deployable capability onto capital projects in Scheduling, Project Planning, estimating and other disciplines.
* Review and approval of all technical output, measures, metrics and corrective recommendations from the Project Controls team.
* Report project status to senior management boards as required.

Preferred experience
* Significant previous experience in a similar senior role and industry, preferably manufacturing, pharmaceutical, Oil & Gas or similar.
* Graduated with a Masters or Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline, or relevant experience
* Excellent knowledge of scheduling, cost management, risk management, change management and programme reporting, systems, tools, processes and procedures.
* Previous experience in setting up and delivering Earned Value Management (EVM) on major programmes / projects
* Highly analytical nature with in depth knowledge of research and data analysis methods
