The Role:
Our client, is a British multinational speciality chemicals and sustainable technologies company with headquartered in London. They are currently looking for a new Senior Process Engineer to join their site in Billingham.

Key responsibilities:

* Development and delivery of process development programmes at lab- and pilot-scale, potentially at both internal and external locations, working closely with process scientists
* Ownership of process engineering models and calculations, and potentially review of other team members' output
* Analysis of lab/process data and collaboration with scientists to provide fundamental understanding of process-property relationships
* Providing process engineering support for modifications to processes and validation of business decisions regarding process design and operation at all production scales
* Leading technical dialogue with external parties, including equipment vendors
* Contributing to project process engineering deliverables for the design of large-scale plant, including scope, H&MB, and equipment specifications
* Preparing and delivering compelling and robust reports/presentations to various levels of management
* Proactively contributing to a world class safety culture in development activities and in process design

Skills and attributes:

* Degree qualified in chemical/process engineering. Chartered status will be viewed as advantageous
* Demonstrated ability to apply creativity and problem solving in process design from lab- to pilot-scale. Subsequent successful translation to commercial scale will be viewed as advantageous
* Experience in the scale-up of solids-based processes with integrated wet-chemistry process technologies. Experience with Ni/Co/Mn chemistries will be viewed as advantageous
* Strong IT skills, including spreadsheeting and modelling software. Statistical software skills will be viewed as advantageous
* Delivery focussed to business-critical timescales and ability to thrive in a fast-paced growth business environment
* Uncompromising attitude to working safely in design and operations.
