The Role:
Due to the continuing success and growth of the business, my client is seeking an experienced Principal Engineer Vehicle Dynamics to join the team.

You will have the opportunity to contribute to our continuing expansion and work with key customers. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Vehicle Dynamics Engineer to develop new Chassis technologies for a global customer base. The successful individual will provide vehicle dynamics expertise within Vehicle Engineering projects, with the opportunity to further grow and influence the business development.

Key Responsibilities:

- Responsible for the planning, management and delivery of Chassis Vehicle Dynamics project attributes
- To perform simulations and analysis related to vehicle dynamics at vehicle and/or system level
- To provide simulation expertise and direction to Chassis team and to the Customer
- To develop and improve simulation and analysis processes and methodologies
- To support the Project Manager in issue resolution and risk management
- To support the generation and maintenance of project FMEAS
- To support the test and development of chassis systems and vehicle performance, including test instrumentation, results correlation with simulation models and outcome interpretation
- Conduct DIL Simulator vehicle dynamics & performance related studies
- To produce virtual simulation tools for high confidence concept evaluations early in the design and development process

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Strong professional history in chassis and vehicle dynamics design and engineering
- At least Bachelor's degree, Chartered status preferred
- Experience in Multi Body Systems (MBS)
- Ability and willingness to travel to US, throughout UK and Europe on occasional basis
- Ability to overcome cultural barriers
- Demonstrate strong customer, team & supplier management skills
- An ability to work effectively and calmly under pressure and to manage time effectively under tight and rigid deadlines
- Ability to identify key project attributes targets related to the role and support through the appropriate level of vehicle/system analysis
- Demonstrate FMEA and root cause analysis experience
- Demonstrate technical project management skills
- Knowledge of Six Sigma, ideally Green Belt qualified
- Strong numeracy and literacy skills
- Matlab/Simulink, ADAMS essential and SimPack/CarMaker is a distinct advantage
- Catia V5, Siemens NX, Creo
- Mircosoft Excel, Word, Power Point, Pr
