The Role:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Rotating Equipment Mechanical Lead and Maintenance Superintendent the responsibility is to ensure effective mechanical maintenance scheduling and close out of maintenance deliverables at the company's field production facilities in Chad, Africa, including all well site facilities, gathering systems, regional satellite facilities, and centralized processing facilities to support the Company's activities in Chad.

 Ensure that all diesel driven rotating mechanical routines, corrective and breakdown maintenance activity plans include appropriate Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), Risk Assessment and precautionary measures in compliance with the company permit to work system and procedure; in order to minimize risk to personnel, the environment and company assets.
 Carry out all diesel driven rotating equipment maintenance activities in shop / field as assigned.
 Supervising Nationals on maintenance jobs on diesel engines and auxiliaries, carrying out non routine assignments.
 Ensure maintenance inter departmental interface in accordance with company operating standards and requirements. (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrument).
 Ensure competency based training and succession programs are in place for department Chadian national staff in conjunction with the training and human resources department.
 Assist with adequate interfacing within department and functional support groups as outlined in operations reference and action plans.

Duties
 In conjunction with the field Rotating Equipment Mechanical Lead/Planner direct maintenance discipline teams (Mechanical) in the planning of maintenance activities, major events, campaign maintenance and scheduled shutdown turnaround activities in conjunction with QA Department plant inspection services and production operations.
 Performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications and engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of generators / vehicles.
 Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions and other components, checking parts.
 Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components, and referring to service manuals as required.
 Reassembling engines and parts after being repaired
 Detecting and diagnosing faults in engines and parts testing and adjusting mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance
 Train and mentor Chadian Nationals on all rotating machinery through the companies C A&A (Competency
Assessment and Assurance) training and development plan.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Fluent written and spoken English
 Must have excellent knowledge in diesel engine overhauls, top and bottom ends and fault finding, i.e. Caterpillar, Perkins, Waukesha including servicing.
 Experience working in Africa (preferable)
 Higher National Certificate Mechanical Engineering
Experience in multi discipline/ multi-national maintenance management (Mechanical), on onshore upstream hydrocarbon oil & gas processing plant and facilities in a remote environment.
 Experience in working in a functional environment (shared services or matrix organization)
 Experience in working with and managing contracted service providers.
 Experience in interfacing with major original equipment manufacturer and vendor service providers.
 Experience in interfacing with project management teams.
 Knowledge of Process Safety Management and production operations.
 Knowledge of Industry Standard Materials Specification (NACE & API, ASME/ANSI) and warehouse management systems
