The Role:
Reporting to the Mechanical Lead the Senior Mechanical Technician's responsibility is to ensure effective mechanical maintenance scheduling and close out of maintenance deliverables at the company's field production facilities in Chad, Africa, including all well site facilities, gathering systems, regional satellite facilities, and centralised processing facilities.to support the Company's activities in Chad.

The position will alternate between 2 Fields in Chad Africa.
 Ensure that all mechanical routine, corrective and breakdown maintenance activity plans include appropriate Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), Risk Assessment and precautionary measures in compliance with the company permit to work system and procedure; in order to minimise risk to personnel, the environment and company assets.
 Supervises, directs and controls all Mechanical Equipment maintenance activities in shop / field as assigned.
 Ensure all mechanical maintenance activities provide for maximum availability of plant, equipment and machinery under the control of the company based CMMS (EAM) system, covering all planned, corrective and breakdown maintenance, including discipline resource management and materials requirements and availability.
 Provide desired services to operating departments at optimal levels in line with departmental planning strategies.
 Provide line management with reported statistical information on department efficiency (Mechanical) and effectiveness of the maintenance strategy.
 Ensure maintenance inter departmental interface in accordance with company operating standards and requirements. (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrument).
 Ensure that agreed department resource development plans and personnel performance agreements (KPI's) are in place in conjunction with company training and human resources departments.
 Ensure competency based training and succession programs are in place for department Chadian national staff in conjunction with the training and human resources department.

Duties
 In conjunction with the field Maintenance Superintendent direct maintenance discipline teams (Mechanical) in the planning of maintenance activities, major events, campaign maintenance and scheduled shutdown turnaround activities in conjunction with QA Department plant inspection services and production operations.
 Provide weekly updates on mechanical maintenance highlights to the Maintenance Superintendent for input into company reporting systems.
 Maintain active department involvement, interface and demonstrated commitment to all company HSE related initiatives and planned activities.
 Train and mentor Chadian Nationals on all Mechanical machinery through the companies CA&A (Competency Assessment and Assurance) training and development plan.
Essential Abilities
 Experience in multi discipline/ multi-national maintenance (Mechanical), on onshore upstream hydrocarbon oil & gas processing plant and facilities in a remote environment.
 Experience in working in a functional environment (shared services or matrix organisation)
 Experience in working with and managing contracted service providers.
 Experience in interfacing with major original equipment manufacturer and vendor service providers.
 Experience in interfacing with project management teams.
 Experience in Emergency Management & Control as part of an Emergency Response Team.
 Knowledge of Process Safety Management and production operations.
 Knowledge of Industry Standard Materials Specification (NACE & API, ASME/ANSI) and warehouse management systems
 Knowledge of Industry Standard CMMS and SCM management systems (max/min stock commodity management and ordering) and software. (MAXIMO, SAP, DATA STREAM, EAM).
 Must have excellent computer based skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
 A highly competent team leader and communicator. Quick to adapt new and innovative ideas.
 Proven ability to Coach and mentor operations and maintenance personnel in line with company C A&A (Competency
 Assessment and Assurance) training and development plan.
 Ability to communicate relevant to line management
 Ability to function in a matrix organisation structure with peers located in various locations.
 Experience in training national staff in in remote locations.
 Excellent knowledge in rotating and static equipment competent in major overhauls, rebuilds, troubleshooting and repairs

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Potential candidates interested in this position MUST meet the following requirements:
 Fluent written and spoken English
 Must have good knowledge in all aspects mechanical equipment
 Experience working in Africa (preferable)
 Mechanical Engineering Qualification
