The Role:
DCS/APC Advisor assists the Section Manager/Deputy Section Manager in his responsibility for managing a part of activities for DCS related systems, give advices to support all staff during build up procedure as well as oriented instruction in detail during the implementation of work.

- Provide support services to Technical Division and to advice the less experienced engineer in the divisions. The advisors work very close with the engineering staff to convey their advice to all operating staff.
- Investigate plant and equipment trips and provide remedial engineering recommendations.
- Participate in planning, cost development and management, and scheduling for assigned projects.
- Support activities to ensure that the design conforms to functional specifications, recognized codes and standards, and other requirements.
- Communicate with DCS vendors and technical consultants to resolve complex issues concerning new technology and upgrades of DCS.
- Provide technical support with regards to instrumentation, DCS, and Package Unit Control Systems. Recommend modifications to improve the performance of field instrumentation and process control.
- Review company engineering standards and participate in standards reviews committees. Serve as an advisor for the safety instrumented systems for the refinery.
- Develop standards and establish guidelines for preventive, breakdown and predictive maintenance activities.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Experience required minimum 15 years in relevant section of Refinery with prior experience in DCS and engaged in actual field operation for 2 year which includes not only routine operation but also troubleshooting, trial operation, preparation for daily and turnaround maintenance.

- A bachelor's degree in Control, Electrical and Electronic, Chemistry, or Equivalent
- Knowledgeable with the industrial standards and code requirements for process control systems, especially Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), etc.
- Excellent Knowledge of field instrumentation and Advanced Process Control (APC).
- Have field experience in designing and applying logic of DCS, PLC, etc. for industrial facilities.
- Capable to effectively design and review logic using Boolean, block diagrams, ladder logic and so on of DCS, PLC, etc. to improve functions and performance.
- Capable to implement/test/validate controller and sequence program on actual system such as DCS, PLC, etc.
- Capable to expand project documentation, drawings, specifications and testing procedures.
- Report writing and presentation skills
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
