The Role:
This is a client facing role, the Electrical System Engineering and Verification Department designs, and delivers spacecraft electrical sub-systems as part of an Airbus Defence and Space Ltd prime spacecraft capability. As an Electrical Systems Engineer you will have the opportunity to directly contribute to the delivery of the spacecraft avionics and data handling sub-system to the Solar Orbiter Spacecraft.

As the project is in the verification phase the successful candidate will not be required to carry out any physical design work, but will need to have considerable knowledge, understanding and appreciation of Avionics and Data Handling Sub system design that has been completed for reporting results and analysis.

The role will involve the following activities:
* Support the technical procurement activities relating to the software for the Solid State Mass Memory.
* Contribute to the Spacecraft level verification activities by ensuring Data Handling Sub-system (On-Board Computer, Remote Interface Unit, and Solid State Mass Memory) are adequately verified, and by supporting spacecraft level testing.
* Resolution of non-conformances and deviations.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The successful candidate is likely to satisfy the following requirements:
* Experience with hardware and/or sub-system validation, as well as internal software/firmware verification processes, with an appreciation and knowledge of design
* Experience of working in a major system integrator in a relevant industry (e.g. Space, aerospace, military)
* An understanding of the use and implementation of TMTC standards such as MILBUS or CAN bus, as well as other electrical interface types such as cut not limited to SDBL, Analogue signals
* Demonstrate good time management
* Ability to identify and mitigate risks.
