The Role:
* Monitoring and overview of the team relationships with Customer, SDA and Project Manager to capture all user and system requirements in order to define the service and network test plans and procedures. Ensuring that sufficient specification has been received in order to proceed with minimum risk or error or rework.
* Management of team deliverables into the system design extrapolating from design documents, including the creation of system concept model (if applicable) and all relevant documentation.
* Monitoring and overview of the implementation & testing of the service (including provision of oversight for installation activities).
* Responsible for deliverables into the CDR, TRR, TRB and FsDR, including detailed test procedures and results. As such the Test Manager is expected to own and run the TRR/TRB review process ensuring quality of input .
* Liaising with relevant Network Management Service teams to produce a suitable fault management solution, or billing solutions as appropriate.
* Provide consultancy for VV&T activities.
* Champion the service transition into operations, from FsDR to Phase 4, ensuring that suitable handovers are provided to relevant operational staff.
* Supporting Incident Management escalations providing diagnosis and recommendations.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Must have demonstrable knowledge of ATM, TCP/IP as well as synchronous and asynchronous communications protocols and Nortel Passport and similar switch equipment.
* IP literate to Associate level
* Knowledge of MPLS networks.
* Knowledge of satellite communications systems.
* Knowledge and use of DCAP, DC2K, mini catapan, Ectocrypt etc.
* Good report writing and general communication skills.
* Must be analytical and able to diagnose and recommend problem resolution.
* Engineering degree or equivalent
* CCNA
* People Management
* Previous Network Design and Engineering Experience

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* SC cleared
