The Role:
Main purpose of job:

To co-ordinate quality activities within the Mould Shop. Mould Shop has 230 employees working various shifts 7 days a week.

Main duties and Responsibilities:

* Managing 1 X Quality Engineer and a number of Quality Technicians.
* Maintain communication between customer quality engineers and Mould.
* Conduct onsite inspection of parts on customer site.
* Track internal data & identify areas of risk and support improvement efforts.
* Implementation of corrective (route cause) actions.
* Customer visits for both quality issues and general communication.
* Audit systems and processes.
* Provide updates on quality information for the mould shop.
* Assist production to drive improved processes and reduce non-conformance costs.
* Support new production launches.
* Facilitate timely responses to customer concerns. Ensure internal and external documentation is produced and maintained.
* Prepare and present pertinent data to management at quality reviews.
* Ensure product and process audits are performed regularly and any noncompliance is addressed.
* Support ISO/TS quality system requirements as per the quality manual.
* To develop the Quality System and quality structure within Mould Operations.
* To ensure the department achieves its quality KPI targets.
* To ensure the department complies with TS16949 quality system requirements.
* To drive continuous improvement within Mould Operations quality.
* To ensure newly launched projects are launched in a systematic manner and optimised ready for production.
* Train operators to required Quality standards.
* Manage Quality Inspection team.
* Ensure first off master Sample Area is maintained and managed.
* Knowledge of quality standards, including TS16949 and customer requirements.
* To project a professional image of the company to customers and visitors.
* To use the escalation procedure for any issues/concerns e.g. quality/downtime.
* Audit processes and carry out detailed part inspection.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Previous experience as an Injection Mould Shop Quality Manager or minimum of 5 years in a Quality Engineer role
* Automotive experience
* Tooling experience
* High level of experience in process control and process improvement within Injection Moulding
* Knowledge of quality standards including TS 16949 and customer requirements
* Ability to develop a full quality system within Mould operations
* Use of continuous improvement tools (i.e. six sigma)
* Analytical and data driven with strong attention span and a good eye for detail
* Good negotiation skills
