The Role:
* Actively and professionally manage the sales cycle from lead generation and lead management to prospecting, arranging appointments, preparing presentations, and liaising with the commercial team in the preparation of technical and commercial proposals
* Develop sales strategies in conjunction with senior management and monitoring sales figures in line with associated targets
* Thoroughly research and understand prospective clients' products, competition, industry, goals and objectives, overall business requirements and ROI objectives, and to advise clients accordingly
* Ensure that all sales opportunities are fully captured and fully explored
* Build, manage and maintain a substantial pipeline and to ensure that all pipeline activity is accurately documented and kept up-to-date in the CRM system
* Provide timely response and exceptional levels of service to all enquiries
* Respond to tenders, Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and other requests for information in a timely and organized manner.
* Effectively meet (and exceed) sales targets as set by the management
* Liaise with and keep informed other company departments as required
* Represent the company at industry events when required
* Freely share knowledge, insight, best practice and ideas.
* Identify, evaluate, and share resources, tactics and techniques
* Strive for excellence across all work with prospects and clients
* Expose markets and opportunities to act as the foundation for company growth
* Extract high quality leads that will convert to profitable and cash rich projects

Candidate Skills and Requirements:

* Educated to at least degree level in a technical/engineering subject
* Experience in a technical sales role specialising in the process industry, ideally pharma/biotechnology plant design and manufacture
* A will to win and tenacity
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Confident personality, excellent team builder and able to communicate and present technical and commercial solutions to clients with the ability to negotiate and ultimately close sales
* Full UK driving license
* Proven track record of bringing in new business
* Commercially astute with ability to identify potential business opportunities, and ideally has quality contacts with end user clients
* Prepared to travel around UK and overseas on occasion if required
