Job Description

The Plant Management provides overall leadership for the company and its employees. It oversees, monitors and develops the overall plant performance covering desalination, power and steam operations, ensuring the plant reliability and capacity are kept to the most desirable level. The main thrust is to ensure continuous and uninterrupted operation of the plant through well-coordinated activities between departments.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

- Ensure that all activities of Power plants three major departments, namely: Power, Desalination and Maintenance, are well-coordinated amongst themselves, in order to guarantee safe, continuous and uninterrupted operations.
- The Plant Manager: Coordinates production and maintenance requirements and plans.
- Oversees O&M staff performance to maintain safe and efficient operations of the plant.
- Enforces development and implementation of operational procedures, as well as overhaul planning activities for all major equipment.
- Settles outsourcing contracts for overhaul of main units.
- Analyzes budget impact and coordinate overhaul cost with Finance Department.
- Ensures implementation of ERP and similar HSE procedures for safe operations.
- Sets up monitoring plans for predicting equipment problem (vibration and performance monitoring).
- Stimulates the identification of technical solutions for equipment life extension.
- Reviews manpower requirements according to department workload.
- Coordinates and partners with corporate support departments to maintain efficient and timely provision of administrative and personnel support to all plant employees.
- Regularly updates the General Manager on plant status and gets/enforces directives on pertinent plant issues.

Leads the whole O&M Team (Power, Desalination, Maintenance, and Chemistry) and backroom support (HSE, Technical Office, Administration and Supply Chain), promotes employees' welfare, increases productivity and motivation, keeps high morale, and promotes learning and development.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

Education/Training/Professional License (List the professional / Academic / General qualifications and specialist knowledge required.)

Masters degree in Engineering In-depth knowledge of power plant operations and maintenance, budgeting, and safety operation Knowledgeable in human resource management (training, appraisal, motivation, etc.)


Experience (Length of job experience and any specific industry experience.)

At least 10 years of related professional experience derived in a utilities or power plant operations.

At least 5 years work experience in senior management/leader position.

Experience in managing technical personnel and complex activities in a Steam / Thermal power plant environment; experience gained in engineering or technical operations areas
