The Role:
Key Responsibilities:

* To support the Project HSSE & SP Lead to plan and deliver safe design in Upstream Operated Projects in accordance with the Shell Project Management Framework (PMF) and the Shell Project Standard 01.
* To support the Project Manager or Project Engineer in ensuring mandatory HSSE and SP activities for the project as per Project Standard 01 are executed timely.
* To provide Technical Safety Engineering support to projects mainly in leading the Hazards and Effects Management (HEMP) Processes for Projects.
* To facilitate or participate in safety associated studies such as Hazard Identification (HAZID), Hazard and Operability Review (HAZOP) and ALARP Demonstration Discussion.
* To conduct or review safety assessment such as Fire, Release, Explosion, Dispersion Hazard Assessment, Non Flammable Hazards Assessment, Dropped Objects Study, Ship Collision Study, Flare Radiation & Dispersion Study, Exhausts Dispersion Study, Escape and Evacuation Risk Assessment, and Emergency Systems Survivability Assessment.
* To coordinate with other HSSE and SP disciplines to obtain their inputs into the project HSSE and SP deliverables.
* To integrate functional inputs of the various HSSE and SP disciplines into relevant project deliverables to deliver project milestones
* To develop and ensure implementation of the HSSE & SP Activity Plan appropriate to the risks and objectives of the project.
* To support HSE activities in tendering such as pre-qualification and HSSE (greenbanding) evaluation.

Qualifications:
* Bachelor of Engineering with minimum of 10 years working experience in Oil & Gas industry delivering projects of which must have at least 6 years hands-on experience in Technical Safety Engineering.
Skills/ Other requirements:
* Competent and experienced in Technical Safety Engineering.
* Technically proficient in quantitative and qualitative risk assessments and control techniques.
* Knowledgeable with offshore gas production facilities and processing systems.
* Knowledge level competency for application of Shell's Design Engineering Manuals
* Knowledge and experience to apply legislative and Shell Group HSSE Policies & procedures
* Be able to challenge Project teams on assumptions to ensure risk assessments are credible.
* Effective communication, interpersonal, and leadership/influencing skills
* Computer literate and skilled user of MS Office
Special Challenges:
* Must be able to travel to Sarawak occasionally (approximately once a month at most).
* Must be ready to accept, support and challenge new ways of working with clear lines in the sand.
* Pragmatic and innovative in providing ALARP solutions to the project.
