The Role:
Reports to - Product Line Director
To work as part of the Research and Development Engineering Team to Manage and steer a dynamic body engineering group across multiple challenging projects.

Key Responsibilities include

* Develop & Deploy body engineering strategies including technical content, defining suitable work scopes and timing plans.
* Technical support & guidance for the following disciplines:

- Body Structures
- Closures, Mechs, & Glass
- Body Exteriors
- Interior Trim
- Safety Restraints
- Optical Quality

* To advise all aspects of component manufacturing & construction methodology.
* To take responsibility for innovative concepts generation using advanced up-front proof of concept techniques.
* To take responsibility for CAE/FEA development & correlation path.
* To take responsibility and Support initial targets and design concepts using design optimisation process.
* To take responsibility for advanced materials investigations with non-traditional applications.
* To take responsibility for identifying issues, generating visual documentation, and escalating where necessary to Product Line Directors.
* To work closely with Vehicle, Powertrain, & Electrical Engineering groups and project managers for collaborative and concurrent development.
* To take responsibility to develop and accurately maintain working standards and best practices.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Technical Skills
* Degree in Mechanical/Automotive or equivalent discipline, 2.1 or above. MSc is desirable.
* Strong CAD modelling & geometry creation skills using Catia V5/V6.
* Broad experience in full vehicle development from concept to production.
* Experience in virtual simulation methodologies.
* Advanced analysis and innovative problem solving techniques
* Possess wide knowledge of vehicle design and association with detailed vehicle attributes.
