The Role:
The candidate should have at least a tertiary degree from a reputable university. He must have at least 18 years of experience of which 12 years must be spent in an upstream offshore oil & gas environment and held senior engineer position within the engineering discipline functions. The candidate must be experienced in the areas related to engineering, procurement, fabrication, offshore installation and hook-up and commissioning of offshore oil & gas production and processing facilities. He must be a good team leader, possess good oral and written communication skills, self starter and with good initiative, good inter-personnel skill and be able to work independently with minimum amount of supervision. He must be willing to work offshore, travel to and be relocated to work site. The Sr. Mechanical functionally reports to Company's Lead Mechanical Engineer who in turn reports to Company's Engineering/Construction Manager and, has the responsibility of ensuring the safe and proper engineering, fabrication and testing, hook-up and commissioning of the facilities/systems for the production and processing facilities, which include:
- Overseeing the EPC Contractor's mechanical engineering to ensure the design criteria (safe and accessible for operations and maintenance, fit for the purpose) are met.
- Verify EPC Contractor and vendors' implementation of the approved specifications and requirements.
- Attend to project management activities relating to mechanical engineering and construction.
- Oversee, review and approve EPC Contractor and vendors' submission of equipment vendor data and documents.
- Review the inspection reports and ensuring that deficiencies are rectified timely.
- Monitor the performance of the EPC Contractor and equipment vendors.
- Review, witness and monitor the equipment receiving inspection and installation.
- Review, witness and monitor the installation and testing of equipment and system/sub-system.
- Report and coordinate equipment installation activities with Company's site representatives.
- Participate actively in the onshore testing & pre-commissioning and offshore hook-up and commissioning.
- Coordinate the related interface, liaison, correspondence and documentation.
- Assist, interface and coordinate with other disciplines in the performance of the work.
- Verify project completion reports relating to engineering, construction and hook-up & commissioning.
