The Role:

This leading player in the market is looking for an experienced Drill & Blast Engineer for an underground mine in WA. This opportunity will be a 6 month contract with an immediate start for the right candidate
The roster is a family-friendly 8/6 with future potential to extend or even become a permanent employee. You will be responsible for day to day Drill & Blast planning activities including but not limited to:

  • Preparation of drill plans and charge plans
  • Progress tracking plans in line with schedule
  • Monitoring the quality of blasting and optimising requirements for operational activity
  • Monitoring bunding and rill preparation in line with operational requirements
  • Assist the ventilation officers as required with mine ventilation planning and surveying
  • Assist with modification plans
  • Managing and reporting on site operational data

The Company:

Our client is a leading Gold Mining Major with mine sites across Australia, South Africa, Ghana and Peru. This prestigious company has aggressive expansion plans and is the company of choice amongst their competitors.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years experience working in a underground drill and blast role
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering (or directly related field
  • Ability to obtain a First Class Mine Manager's / Shift Boss ticket or be working towards this
  • Must be tech-savvy, able to pick up systems quickly whilst strong with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ideally have experience and a knowledge of using Deswik and Vulcan
  • A current National Police clearance or be able to obtain one
  • Clean and valid WA Class C driver's license
