The position will report to the Contracts HSSE Management Lead with dedicated support to the Ops HSSE team and will be specifically responsible for providing expert technical advice and support to the Contracts Management process to ensure that there is improvement in contractor's HSSE performance and to meet Corporate requirements.

Key Deliverables

1. Regularly review the management of HSSE risks in the contracted activities and, where necessary, intervene and take actions for continuous improvement of HSSE performance.

2. Define the level of Company HSSE performance monitoring required based on the capability of the contractor and the Contract HSSE risk.

3. Ensure that contracts consistently and effectively cover the management of HSSE risks and deliver effective management of HSSE risks during contracted activities.

4. Provide expertise in coaching and support to Contract Holders in Pre- and Post-Award Phase.

5. Support the Business through Post-award engagements (e.g. assessments, report writing and presentations, field visits and HSE-Improvement Plans, Contract Owner/Contract Holder support and training,
HSSE Lead activities, Business Performance Reviews, Develop/Lead Contractor Forums).

6. Work closely with other functional organizations (e.g. Contracts and Procurement) to support / promote improvements.

7. Support the Contracts and Procurement process in the Pre-award phase (e.g. bid reviews, contractor selection, Risk Ranking, Contract HSSE Plans).

8. Drive Contractor HSSE Management through Contract Owner and Holder networks.

9. Conduct audits to evaluate contractor's HSSE capability.


1. Practical experience with leading HSE risk management and performance at site level.
2. Creative individual that demonstrates flexibility of approach while maintaining a fair degree of resilience.
3. Well-developed communication & interpersonal skills.
4. Skilled at team working, managing Business interfaces and working and embedding change.
5. Good technical knowledge and experience to enable provide sound and credible advice adapted to the business


The position holder should have B.Sc. degree in Occupational Health and Safety, or an OHS Diploma or professional designation such as CRSP, NEBOSH or CSP. Possession of an M.Sc. degree in OHS or a related discipline will be an asset, as well as exposure in the areas of Health and Safety.
A minimum of seven (7) years relevant experience of which 3 shall be in the oil and gas industry with detailed knowledge of and demonstrated experience of working within an OSHAS 18001 / ISO 45001. Lead auditor training and familiarity with STOW will be considered as an asset
