The Role:
1. Coordinate with Projects, Production and Drilling CP Focal Points to understand inbound materials requirements for Freight Forwarding, Road Transport and Customs Clearance.
2. Attend Planning Meetings with Logistics Functional Planner to capture FF/Customs requirements.
3. Coordinate with Logistics Materials Movement Manager to identify laydown and warehousing requirements
4. Coordinate with Wells, Projects and Production Material Managers for FF/Customs and Road Transport requirements
5. Function as the Local Hand-off from all businesses for inbound Freight Forwarding and Customs Clearance
6. Manage contracted freight forwarding agent, responsible for inbound international shipments
7. Report progress to Logistics Materials Movement Manager for planning & scheduling purposes.
8. Advise Logistics Materials Movement Manager and Project Planners on practical Logistics solutions.
9. Advise and managing freight risks to the Logistics Materials Movement Manager
10. Implement improvements initiatives in managing freight forwarding cost reduction and turnaround time

7. Manage complex supply routes to a continually changing schedule

Job Context (Working Environment)
1. Contract Holder for Freight Forwarding Contracts and operations, managing the following activities:
a. Investigate and plan the most appropriate route for a shipment, considering the schedule, hazardous nature of the goods, cost, transit time and security;
b. Recommend shipping solutions to minimize cost and environmental impacts;
c. Reserve necessary space on ships, aircraft, trains, or trucks;
d. Arrange appropriate packing, take account of climate, terrain, weight, nature of goods and cost, and the delivery and warehousing of goods at their destination;
e. Arrange delivery or storage of goods at destinations.
f. Arrange for special transport of sensitive non-standard cargoes, such as hazardous material;
g. Arrange air transport for urgent and high-value freight and manage the risk door to door;
h. Arrange charters for large volume, out-of-gauge or project movements by air and sea;
i. Arrange courier and specialist hand-carry services.
j. Collate shipping documentation, such as including bills of lading, packing lists, dock receipts, and certificates of origin;
k. Consolidate loads with a common destination to reduce costs to individual shippers;
7. Maintaining communication with customers, colleagues and third parties and provide control through all phases of the journey, including the production of management reports and statistical and unit cost analysis;
8. Provide assurance to the freight forwarding process to ensure compliance to Trade Controls, policies and laws;
9. Review Expediting reports and take corrective action on problems identified in the Tracking Report
10. Keep records of all materials dispatched or received;
11. Monitor or record locations;
12. Maintain current knowledge of relevant legislation, political situations, or other factors that could affect freight shipping.
13. Advise management on Trade Control matters
2. Forecast workload and plan operation for upcoming orders
3. Coordinate with CP and Project Management for delays and revisions in orders
4. Negotiate shipping rates with freight carriers;
5. Arrange for payment of freight to freight forwarder and arrange approvals for applicable duties and taxes etc.;
6. Manage timely approval of Import documentation, in advance of shipment arrival

1. Able to deliver and work under tight deadline schedule.
2. Good Interpersonal skills in a multicultural business environment
3. Team player and able to work as a team/independently in close collaboration.
4. Strong matured and interpersonal skills.
5. Time management and personal organization - understands concepts and meets deadlines
6. Good computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook as a minimum)
7. Self-starter does not wait to be told.
8. Familiar with cost reporting process and able to produce timely report.
9. Keen eye on continuous improvement and capable of streamlining processes towards corrective, sustainable progress.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
1. High calibre professional with a minimum of 10 years relevant logistics/administrative experience at mid-management level
2. Must have recent freight forwarding, materials management and logistics experience
3. Must have excellent communication skills - both written and oral, capable of report writing and conduct
presentations to all key stakeholders internally and externally.
4. Operate effectively within an asymmetrical, multicultural setting, under pressure and able to meet demanding timelines
5. Accurate reporting ability with attention to details
6. Gap analysis to fulfill all steps of the process and leave no space for errors or missing steps
7. University degree in supply chain management preferred
