The Role:
Fircroft Trinidad and Tobago operates 3 x producing shallow water platforms, with several shallow water subsea tie-backs, and 4 x land wells. Annual spend ranges between: USD20-170 mln depending on activity levels. The role is for Local Staff, based in Port of Spain working offshore on the semisubmersible rigs, platforms and onshore assets.
The Wells Deepwater Operations Engineer will be responsible for planning, reporting, logistics, and integration of various stakeholders in support of the execution of well work activities at the wellsite. The position is an office-based position reporting to the Operations Team Lead; however, the Operations Engineer will be expected to make occasional visits to the rig. The candidate will also provide input well programs, including details around HSSE, well control, equipment, contractors, etc. Accessibility outside of office hours will be expected due to the nature of continuous rig and intervention operations.

The successful candidate is expected to work closely with the field-based foremen and office based supervisory staff and office-based planning engineers to make well work decisions/recommendations including selection and optimization of services; materials; fluid systems; operational techniques; operational efficiencies; cost tracking; championing of at least one CP initiative; continuous improvement; and management of project risks. Rig intake activities and interfacing with the drilling contractor to manage and coordinate operational and rig specific needs is also a significant area of responsibility.


Purpose The Wells Operations Engineer will be responsible for planning, logistics, supervision, and documentation of the execution of wells execution activities at the wellsite (on a semi-submersible drilling unit), located offshore Trinidad and Tobago.

Principal Accountabilities

* HSSE - Responsible for ensuring HSSE is integrated in the procedure and execution of drilling operations. Actively promote HSSE and Sustainable Development (SD) in all activities and ensure compliance with business principles.
* Project Execution - Responsible for planning, logistics, supervision, and documentation of the execution of well work activities. Work closely with the engineers and Operations Team Leads to make well work decisions/recommendations including selection and optimization of materials; fluid systems; operational techniques, operational efficiencies, cost tracking, and management of project risks. Provide input on well programs, including details around HSSE, well control, equipment, contractors, etc.
* Coaching and Mentoring - Coach and mentor less experienced team members to deliver best-in-class performance in HSSE, cost, and time.
* Cost and Time Tracking - Champion and lead a team of supervisors in tracking well costs and job timing during execution, including differentiating trouble costs/time from expected costs/time.
* Scheduling and Transfer - Responsible for managing the well work schedule for the field, coordination of material, equipment, and human resources, and serving as a primary interface between engineering and operations. Accountable for well handover/hand back with other operations groups such as CWI and production.
* Contract Management - serve as a focal point the evaluation of service quality.

Experience and Qualifications

* Bachelor's or Master's degree preferably in engineering or any other technical degree or Technical Diploma or equivalent experience.
* 10 years industry experience and at least 5 years of supervisory experience.
* Round 2 Certificate / Diploma alternatively a trade test will be required to be completed by the candidate.
* Valid IWCF Certificate - Combined Surface and Subsea or IADC Wellsharp Certificate.
* Lead, Prepare and Apply HSSE risk management.
* Plan and execute wells operations, with experience in the following areas:
o Casing String Design.
o Well Delivery Program optimization.
o Identification of Drilling Design Options and Program preparation.
o Drilling Fluid Design Options identification.
o Well Control Equipment specification and execution of Well Control operations.
o Well Drilling and Completion operations execution.
o Well Interventions and Abandonment Operations execution.
o Completion and Well Intervention Operations.
