The Role:

The position will report to the Environmental and Regulatory Manager with dedicated support to the Exploration team and will be specifically responsible for providing expert technical advice and support to the Project, Waste Management Services Contract and Site-Specific Environmental Management Plans to ensure that there is improvement in contractor performance and to meet Company's Corporate requirements.

Key Deliverables

1. Provide technical support and guidance to the project teams to ensure that the seismic and exploration programme complies with local legislative and Company Corporate requirements.
2. Liaise with the Environmental Management Authority (EMA) to obtain relevant permits and consents (e.g. Certificates of Environmental Clearances (CECs), Water and Air Source Registration Certificates, etc.) for the project.
3. Define scope of works for and coordinate selection and procurement of Contractors required to conduct relevant environmental studies (e.g. Environmental Impact Assessments, Environmental Baseline Reports, etc.)
4. Manage the execution of environmental studies carried out by external Consultants including quality control of corresponding reports.
5. Develop relevant environmental management procedures (e.g. Environmental Management Plans, Waste Management Plans, Compliance Registers, etc.) for execution of the projects.
6. Collate and assess environmental data to monitor project's environmental performance.
7. Conduct audits (e.g. compliance, environmental management system, contractor, etc.) to evaluate HSE performance.


8. Support contractor - Waste Management Services with Contract HSE Management.
* Contribute to the management of HSSE risks in the Waste Management Services Contract and where necessary, intervene and take actions for continuous improvement of HSSE performance.
* Drive the implementation of a robust HSSE Improvement Plan for Waste Management Contractor.
* Support Implementation of Road Safety Risk Mitigation Plan for waste contractors.
* Contribute to the closure of Business Performance Review Actions.
* Verify that contractors have assessed and are managing subcontractor activities.
9. Participate in supporting the proper identification and characterization of wastes and the development of an inventory of wastes for projects and operations.
10. Support monitoring arrangements for Waste Management.
11. Contribute to waste auditing, monitoring and reporting program for the Asset.
12. Contribute to ISO 14001 certification and compliance by reviewing and updating environmental procedures and rolling out to the sites.
13. Support the revision of site-specific Environmental Management Plans to improve the Environmental Management System.
14. Manage data gathering (baseline studies, environmental permits, waste), support establishment of new environmental database, trend environmental data and prepare monthly reports in compliance with the HSSE & SP CF

Qualifications/Experience

The post holder should have B.Sc. degree in Natural Science, or Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering, or any other related field. Possession of an M.Sc degree in Environmental or a related discipline will be an asset, as well as exposure in the areas of Health and Safety. A minimum of seven (7) years relevant experience of which 3 shall be in the oil and gas industry with detailed knowledge of and demonstrated experience of working within an ISO14001 Environmental Management System framework and regulatory permitting process.
