The Role:
Write executive speeches and develop presentations, helping drive the strategy for the leaderships' external and internal engagements with stakeholders, raise executive profiles as thought leaders in the chemical industry, and advance the company's global and national standing.
SABIC's Speechwriter is responsible for developing high-impact communications for the company's executives and its Global Communications Operation.
This position requires strategic thinking with the ability to deliver consistently high quality, well-written, thought-provoking materials under pressure and tight deadlines.
The Speechwriter will be part of a large communications team. He will have dual reporting to the Executives and to the Global Communications Lead in the Corporate Affairs.

Key Accountability
Engage with senior leaders, including the CEO, to develop and write speeches for various internal and external audiences. Undertaking original research on a range of topics as needed to inform the speech/lecture and soliciting inputs from across the organization as needed.
Manage a wide range of executive-level communications to be delivered on public platforms. Researching audience expectations, event agenda and topics, and assist in focusing the purpose of each speech or lecture to tailor messages for audience appeal and impact.
Keep abreast with company developments, relevant industry reports, and policy changes, to be able to advise company executives on brand messaging. Analyzing complex information, including statistics, financial information and other numerical, qualitative and quantitative data, to extract key messages for integration into speeches/lectures and other communications material as required.
Develop thought leadership articles for company executives for positioning in the media, conferences and town halls. Draft/review/edit other substantive written material for the Executives as requested including statements, briefings, op-eds, opinions, articles, talking points, key messages and other written communications. This may include targeted messages for internal communications within SABIC or for specific stakeholders and partners, as needed by the Executives.
Develop press releases, feature stories, articles based on the executive speeches. Work with senior managers and communications colleagues in various Bureaus to incorporate Executives messaging into their speeches and other communications materials.
Research and evaluate external speaking opportunities and make suitable recommendations to the leadership. Coordinate with the Executives and the Global Communications on publishing speeches and presentation content on SABIC corporate website including maintaining an up-to-date archive of speeches.
Manage interfaces with Media and PR Agencies and process all related transactions. Extract key messages from speeches/presentations/articles for dissemination through social media channels, in close collaboration with the Global Communications.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in a Communications-related field.
Minimum Experience:
10 years experience in a reputed organization as a Speech Writer Superior writing skills are essential.
